mommyness

Mommyness is setting in on me and I'm trying to prepare myself. D only has 2 more days at his daycare and starts next Wednesday in "big boy school" Ugh....I have so many mommy questions. Good thing they are having an open house on Sunday, I'll be sure to have my list of nervous mommy questions with me!!
B's open house at the new daycare was a little of a bummer. I don't think they were quite prepared for the open house. There are still alot of unanswered questions and I have some hesitation that's for sure. We'll see. I plan to go up and visit on Monday when they officially open and see if they have gotten everything into place. I'm hopeful but we'll just have to see what my "mommy sense" tells me....
Thanks to mom for picking up the boys two days this week. It's been a big help to be able to just drive straight home after work. Thanks mom!!
The washer/dryer work great! I did one small load and probably watched the whole wash cycle, wow who knew you could sit and be amazed at a washer......crazy!! I haven't snapped the pic of the babies yet, but maybe by the weekend. Well that's all for now, short and quick. Time for bed for the kiddos and SYTYCD for me. I can't believe Will got voted off. He will go far though in his career and now I'm still torn between who is my favorite....Toodles.

Busy little bees

It's been pretty busy around here lately. Had my garage sale on Sat and made about $180. Not too bad, but you can tell the economy is down. People didn't quite seem to be spending as easily as last year in my opinion. We're going to do another one this Sat to try to get rid of some more stuff and then the rest will go to the Good Will. I def do not want to bring it back into the house.

My run training was cancelled for tonight. Kinda a bummer because of the accountability. I was going to head to the Y but too much home stuff to get taken care of. I am working everyday this week so I don't have much time for other stuff, i have to take advantage when I can.

Tomorrow night is the open house for B's possible new daycare. I hope we really like it and that all seems well. It will be so nice to only have to drive less than 5 minutes to drop off and pick up compared to 20-25 minutes depending on traffic one way.

I broke down this weekend and finally got us the new efficient washer and dryer front loaders. I have been wanting them for about a year and just couldn't quite make the purchase. Well we bit the bullet and got them. They'll be here tomorrow. Didn't think I'd be so excited about getting a new washer and dryer....yikes...old age has set in!!!! But our laundery has quadrupled now and we just need bigger and more efficient. I'll post a pic of the lovely babies tomorrow....sad I know that I'd post pic of them but hey why not! :)

B is officially out of pull ups! YES YES YES YES!!! He hasn't worn a diaper all weekend and didn't have any accidents. So we're done!!! I'm not putting him in diapers anymore. If he has an accident or two that's OK, but so far he's done great! He tells us every time he has to go and it's all good. Mommy's very very happy!!

Well just a quick update. Need to run and put away laundry and get dinner going before Mike gets home with the boys from taekwondo. Toodles.

Major progress!

Yipee....we are on day 3 of undies for the little one. Only two poo poo accidents and 1 pee pee. He is wearing underwear all day at school and at home and doing GGGRRREEEAAAATTTT!! I am so excited! I think we are pretty much into all underwear now. He did excellent with #2 over the weekend. I think the problem at school with #2 is they just aren't constantly watching him. I mean with about 20 kids trying to potty train....I can't imagine. But I'm hopeful and I do wish for total potty time soon, I am NOT into washing out the dirty undies, totally gross me out!!!! When D was potty training it was like just overnight and he was trained. He never ever had a #2 accident and only a few pee pees. I hope with the weekend approaching we'll conquer the #2 issues and we'll be done! I can't express how thrilled I am. I even can return the last pack of pullups I bought and trade them in for some more Elmo, Mickey or somekind of fun underwear of his choice! Exciting I know!!
Tomorrow is parents night out! Another happy face for me!! We haven't had one in awhile and I'm looking forward to a great dinner out taking our time and even tasting the food we have ordered! :) I'll also be spending a little of the time preparing for our garage sale on Sat. Mom and I are having a garage sale and I hope to make a few bucks! I'm digging out all kinds of stuff around the house to sell. I want to empty all the junk and other things we never use out of the house and start to get the house really in order.
D starts school in only 1 1/2 weeks. Yikes...I'm excited but nervous at the same time. We are also probably going to move B to a closer daycare by us. It's just opening up and is only about 3 minutes from the house! Gas money SAVED!!! yeah!!! We are going to the open house next week to check out the new place and make sure all seems up to par before we totally commit. We figured it would be a good transition time since D is starting school too and the boys will no longer be at the same school anymore anyway. They both really like the school they are at but are so very excited to be going to their new school, that gives me another happy face!!!
Finally rained here today, I thought we'd never get rain again!! It didn't last very long but enough to drench the ground and I can postpone using the sprinklers a few more days.
I think we might head to the water park this weekend. We haven't taken the boys yet this summer so we need to hurry up before it's over and gone before we know it. It should be alot of fun since B is a year older and mabye won't be so scared of all the sprayers. If we don't make it out to the water park I think we should definetely hit the pool to cool off!
Well time to start on my nightly duties and get the boys to bed. Toodles and happy weekend to all.

R-n-R

So I had all intentions that I would be on the elliptical watching my shows tonight after the boys go to bed. Well instead I have talked myself out of it and decided to have a big glass of wine and maybe even a plate of cheese topped tortilla chips and watch tv. Sounds good doesn't it.... I think so!!

A bunch of BS

Blog Slacking that is!!!

It seems as though the days have flown by. We've had a good weekend. My inlaws were in town and the boys and my niece got to spend quality time with their grandparents. Amanda and I even got to have a few hours to ourselves and do some therapeutic shopping, thanks for the babysitting!! The big boys have been gone all weekend for a remote control car race/tournament type thing. I tried to go out and take pics, but the timing has just been off and it's been to stinkin' hot!! Almost a 100!! I think we'll get the slip n slide out later!
I got to see my beautiful niece and take more pics!! She is really loving to smile now! I'll have them posted maybe later today. Meanwhile the boys just laid down for a nap, we've been out doing a little more shopping and then lunch with my mom and sis. So I think I'll go lay on the couch and veg and watch a little Tivo'd Jon & Kate plus 8. Toodles for now, and I hope to post some pics later today.

N training

Well my 5K training is going Ok so far. Last week Amanda and I went to the Intermediate I runner group. We decided we wanted more of a challenge for the training and final end result so we moved to the Intermediate II group this week. Well it was a challenge. I am happy that I did the whole training with Amanda only about 20 people ahead of me. The hills in the park that we are training in are getting to me a little. I have been practicing on the levelness of the treadmill. The coaches got fancy at the end. We ran for 5 min then walked for 3 minutes continually rotating back and forth for 30 minutes. Well the last 5 minute run started at the bottom of a hill. My pace was definetely slower heading up the hill and it was the last 5 minute run for the evening. Well I was watching my watch intently waiting to stop running, I was feeling the hills and I was very tired. So as the 5 minute mark hit I started to walk, well wait....the rest kept running and there was no signal to walk. What....??maybe I got confused with the time so I started to run again. Another minute past and I stopped...wait...they are still running! WTF! I was exhausted now and headed up yet another hill, I walked then ran and walked then ran until they finally stopped running. At the 8 minute mark!! Was this a cruel joke or what?? Amanda did wonderful and kept running the whole time...I fell behind and had to walk in those final trickery minutes. So we are stretching and the coaches are snickering and asking did any of us know how long the final run was??? I DID! There were others too that like me were watching their watches waiting for the minute to stop. Nonetheless in my mind I did the training session. We were only supposed to run 5 minute intervals.
Tonight me and Amanda were supposed to go running but my hubby is out of town. So tomorrow I'm heading to the Y to train some more. I only plan to really run on the streets with the running training group on Monday nights. I know the hills affect my run differently but I got shin splints before from running on the hard road and my legs feel a little tender from the run the other night so I'm sticking to the treadmill for my two other trainings. I have to do 2 more sessions this week before our next training on monday night. It's gonna be a killer! I think we are going to run 7 min and walk 3 for about 30 minutes. I hope I can do it!! I do know that I won't have a big fat cheeseburger the day of training anymore...ooops! :) I also plan to go and check out some new running shoes this weekend that might help too.
Well that's all for now. Toodles.

A wonderful Sunday

We spent our vacation Sunday morning at the Children's museum in STL. The kids had a blast! They had alot of outdoor fun but it was starting to get a little warm and we weren't quite dressed to be getting all rugged and stuff but it was alot of fun anyway. The boys kept begging for more but we had to go inside to cool off. I think we will definetely take them back if we're in town again.

They had a huge outdoor metal type obstacle course of sorts. You could climb all around to all kinds of different tunnels, slides and different lookout points and even up to a suspended airplane.

Inside they had a tremendous slide. It was so much fun. Mike and I even enjoyed it ourselves. I could of just kept sliding down. It was about the equivalent of 2-3 flights of stairs high and you slid down really fast. The first time I let D go first and B and I followed. We were going so fast that I thought we were going to run into him so I kept trying to slow us down. The next time I let D get all the way down and B and I went full speed. It was great!! Mike even took a turn with B and enjoyed it alot.

The outside view of the slide.
Here comes D with B and I in the background at the top.
Then daddy and B!

We saw some of the flooding while driving around.

Then dinner at our old neighbors and great friends house!

The boys enjoyed jumping on the trampoline. Daddy even joined in and by the end of the night B was a pro at it.

It was pretty humid outside and D was definetely sweating after all the jumping.

The guys had their bonding time.

And so did us girls! Thanks to everyone for a wonderful dinner and the dessert was pure sin: it was some type of ice cream sandwich dessert pie. I don't know but it was scrumptious, certainly worth cheating on your diet for!!! We really miss hangin out with you guys!! Hope it's not too long before we see you again!!

Well that's all for now. Off to bathe and put boys to bed. Toodles.

The Zoo trip

We spent most of Saturday at the zoo. The zoo is wonderful and the boys really enjoyed it. They were really into seeing the animals this time. This bear decided to scratch his back on the post while we were watching, the boys were amazed.

The penguin house is very cool. Literally!! The boys were so excited to go in and see the penguins until they felt the extreme cold. I don't know the temp in there, but cold enough for all of the penguins. They are so amazing. They had several types of penguins, many of them like on the movie Happy Feet.
The boys got a souvenir too of course. B wanted a giant snake and D opted for the chomping monkey head. B loved the snake and still sleeps with it now. It was so cute to see him walking around at the zoo in 80-90 degree weather with the stuffed snake wrapped around his neck. My question though is....how did he know how to wear a snake?? D's monkey became very annoying as he was chomping everything around and even trying to chomp the snake and make B cry. But I guess thats brothers for you right?? Just wait till B is older and he'll be telling D that his snake will easily win over the monkey with one venomous bite...hee hee!!
B couldn't wait to see the giraffes. When I asked him what animal he wanted to see most he said giraffe. He wasn't quite happy until we finally found them. " my giraffe, my giraffe!!", it was precious.

Good thing B didn't want this snake!! Yikes, and glad i didn't find it in my garage! This boa was huge!!

The zoo here where we live has an exhibit where you can watch a polar bear swim around under water. The zoo up there had a hippo exhibit, very cool. Those things are so huge!! Amazing how they walk around on the ground under water!
The boys just couldn't wait to go see the dinosaur exhibit. I don't think it was quite what they had thought. These were electronic type moveable dinosaurs. They didn't walk or anything but just moved their heads and legs and made growling noises. Well the boys were scared. But, mean parents that we are we made them endure it (hey we paid extra for that!!) and even pose for pictures while B was screaming in horror. They'll get a kick out of these pics when they are a few years older!

By the end of the exhibit D realized not to be scared and even sat on a dinosaur for a photo op....happpy me! B of course still wanted no part of the dinosaurs.
We ended the evening at some friends house and enjoyed a wonderful homemade dinner with pasta, bread, salad and a wonderful cheesecake for dessert! The boys got to play with some "antique toys". They were Gary's when he was a boy and they were made out of metal, amazing how kids didn't really hurt themselves with these! But my boys were just so happy to have some trucks and tractors to play with while mommy and daddy did some visiting.

Well that's all for our Saturday in STL. More to come later, with yes more pics!

B finally gets a hair cut tomorrow. I love his curly locks but they are getting too long and starting to be kinda like a frizzy afro. So, tomorrow the locks will be gone! But he does look so adorable after a haircut. Tomorrow night we're planning a little get together with my bro and sis in law. I can't wait to see my neice. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen her. I'll be sure to get some updated pictures to share also. Well toodles for now.

Just a moment

I have just a moment tonight to share a little from our vacation. The weather was gorgeous when we arrived on the 4th! We headed to a nearby park to let the boys run out some much needed built up energy from the car ride. Even daddy got on the swings....go daddy!! We then headed to Rhonda's for a 4th cookout and swim at the neighborhood pool. Her girls were so adorable. We were pregnant at the same time due only 2 weeks apart and now she has another little girl 1 yr younger. They are so adorable. The weather was so cool that we were the only ones at the pool and had it all to ourselves!! We enjoyed great food and then drove down the street only 5 minutes or so and got out and sat in the grass and watched the fireworks. D actually enjoyed them this time and even laid back on the blanket to watch and enjoy. B on the other hand didn't see probably one firework. He is still scared with the loud noises and just hugged me the whole time, of course I didn't mind the cuddles that's for sure from my little busy bee.

Cutie pie at 20 months old or so. The baby sis.

She is B's age but mostly played with D.

FROM THIS:

TO THIS ALMOST 3 YRS LATER!!

Boy how time flies fast!

Well I said I only had a moment and that was it. I'll be back soon to share some more. Happy Friday tomorrow to everyone!!
