Well last week started out kinda rough. D was home 3 day with a fever. He would do pretty good all day and then the fever would return every evening. I missed two days of work and then when Mike got back in town he had to stay with them one day. But luckily both boys were doing great by Christmas eve. We had a very wonderful holiday weekend. The boys loved Christmas of course! I heard footsteps on Christmas morning so I got up, then the steps stopped at top of stairs (as if they were looking down) and then ran back into the rooms. I went into my room and I could hear Bry waking Dev up to tell him about it all. I heard him telling Dev he would share his toys, then Dev woke up and groggily said....."Happy Birthday Jesus" is was so sweet!! The boys loved opening all their presents and were happy about pretty much everything. Except a coloring book Granny got that B insisted was a girls coloring book! Ha...it was funny! We didn't have a white Christmas, but it did snow almost all day long. No accumulation but it snowed all day. The boys even went out and rode their new big wheel drifters in the falling snow! It was neat, but we didn't last long out there because it was COLD!! We enjoyed the rest of the weekend eating left overs, watching football and playing with all the new toys! Yes, I do have pics, but just have to get them uploaded on here...maybe tonight.... :-)
Back to work today...boo! But at least it's a short week!
Doing good on my running too! Yippee!! Already have run 17.5 miles on the new treadmill! Yay me!! I figure if we happen to get a nice weather day, I'll take a run outside for a change of things, but loving the new treadmill!
Well that's about all for now! Hoping to see family and friends for the New Year! Toodles for now.

Fun outta here
We decided to have a little out of town fun for the holiday season. We took a short weekend trip over to Nashville and stayed at the Opryland hotel. It looked great! It just reopened from the May flood! This tree was beautiful and huge!!
Loved the Poinsettia tree also!
My little gingerbread boy!
Of course, had to do the train ride!! Chugga, chugga!
Some pics from of the hotel decorations.
Very pretty at night!
We walked past the new snow play area. We didn't pay to let the boys play in the snow since we usually get at least one snow a year at home.
We did go in the ICE display. Wow!! 2 millions pounds of ice carved into a beautiful display! They gave every one parkas to wear over their coats since it's so cold in there! Freezing! For real!
This was the stair entrance up to the ice slide. The foggy stuff on the pic is the freezing temps in there, I guess! LOL! The boys were getting cranky at this point because they were so cold. Mike heard someone say it was 9 degrees. But after waiting in line, the slide was alot of fun. All ice!
The hotel had a nice fountain that does a show to music and lights at night. We caught part of the show one night and it was really cool.
We went to see the Rockettes one of the nights. What a great show! The boys really loved the dancing and the music. Everytime I looked over at Dev he was bopping his head to the music. During intermission he handed me the program open to the page of the pic of all the Rockettes and wanted to know my favorite, I asked him which one he liked...um....he had a favorite!! eekk!! uh-oh!! LOL!! Loved the show it was great!
Had to stop to eat at Cock of the Walk on the way home. So yummy!! Catfish, shrimp, chicken and the best cornbread and coleslaw ever.....yum!!
Oh yeah....the boys were so tickled when they woke up in the hotel and Mark the Elf had followed them to Nashville! They wanted to make sure he made it back to our house though.....he did! Thankfully! LOL! They really like looking for him every morning!
Took the boys bowling yesterday on our day off. They did really good and Bry even got an 89! I get that sometimes...ha ha...
Dev woke up with a 101 fever today! bummer! So I'm home with them again today. But after his Motrin he has done pretty good. So hoping it was just a 24 hour thing and can go to the babysitter tomorrow so I can work. Now that my work got bought out, I have to use vacation time for my sick days. It's all in one bank...yuk! I need that vacation time...I have it all planned out for the whole year already! :-)
Got my Christmas present early. A Treadmill! Who would of thought I would be happen about that! ha! But actually I am. The weather has gotten cold and it's time to really start my training for the 1/2 marathon in Disney the end of February. Dev's best friends' Mom is running it with me. I am very excited about that. And we are meeting two other girls there. I can't believe it's only 10 weeks away...eeekkk!! Why endure the pain again??? I'm not sure....something about Disney made me do it!!!! :-) But....I did say it before but this time I mean it....it is my last 1/2 marathon!! I saw on Biggest Loser that only 1% of Americans have ran a marathon so I figure only 2% have done a 1/2....ha ha...don't know the % for sure, but sounds good. So I'm in the Elite and done it twice....so I'm done!! Ran 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday. My first run since before Thanksgiving!! yikes! It was tough, but I finished it. Only 2 miles scheduled for today so hoping it won't be too bad. Also haven't been running at work on my lunch break due to the weather so I've really been slacking. It's also not easy with all the cookies in my stomach! But they taste so good!! ha ha
Oh well, I guess that's all for now! Really looking forward to the weekend! They are predicting a possible white Christmas here....we'll see! toodles.

Lotsa lotsa goings on
oohh weee...it's been busy busy around here. It's also been cold so I have been trying to do things to keep the boys busy. Mom and I headed to Lowe's one day for some PVC pipe to build what I had imagined as a very cool fort for the boys that was easy to construct and take down and store. HAAAAA! Well it took us a long time to get is assembled for the first time. The original plan that we had didn't quite work and we didn't have all the right pieces. But we made due with what we had and this is what we ended up with....the boys liked it and that's all the matter. So we put it up next to their couch/recliner fort they always play in.
We now have a King's castle!
Dev has been working on Legos that he got for his birthday back in Sept. He got several sets so we've saved them for later dates. Now is a great time! Wow look at that car.
Bry has been working on puzzles. He is really great at them!
Then of course there has to be snuggle time with my cuddlebugs!!
Made Santa cookies for B's class party today...
And made Reindeer for Dev's class party.
Also got Elf on a Shelf. The boys are enjoying it. A quick explanation is that it's a magic Elf from the north pole to help Santa watch the kids. We gave him a name and he becomes magic. Each night he flies back to north pole and reports to Santa. Then flies back to our house. Each morning the Elf is in a different spot and the boys have to find him. They are loving it and are so excited to get up and look for him!!
Well this was a quick post I know. But wanted to give a little of what we've been up to. Looking forward to a very festive weekend ahead! Pics to follow next week.
We are getting very excited at our house about Christmas as you can imagine! I love this time of the year!!
Toodles for now. have a great weekend!

Dev had some fun with the mini cowboy hats from the party. He gathered some of his animals and wrestling dude and made a dude ranch! ha ha
Did some fun tonight with the boys. Santa cookies! Yum! They were so easy and the boys loved adding the eyes and noses.
Oops! What happened to Santa? LOL Looks like someone got hungry! hee hee
Well just wanted to share some quick pics. Tomorrow is only a half day of work and we get paid for the whole day! Merry Christmas from my work! whoo hoo! I think it will be a perfect time to come home and wrap gifts. Then Dev has a soccer game.
After boys go to bed we are going to practice Rock Band. We are going to a Christmas party on Sat. and last year we were rockin' out on Rock Band. So I need to practice up so I can jam on the drums...hee hee!!
Well that's all for now.
Toodles.

Happy
Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meeee....yippee!!
Ha! just had to do that, thought it was funny!
The cookie party turned out great! The country theme was alot of fun! Here's our traditional group pic!
This game was a blast! It was a relay that you had to run down and put something on out of the bag. Then run back to your team, take it off, they put it on and run down to put something else on and continue on. Get the idea? These were the people that ended up with everything on at the end! It was funny!!
We also had three teams in separate rooms that had to make one team member into Santa using on the supplies I gave them...these were the results! Pretty great!!
Beth didn't win best dressed this year, but ....she did win Cookie Queen for best display with her pig cookies! Way to go!
Another fav...and the winner of best dressed was my friend C. She dressed as Willie Nelson and these were her cookies...can you read it? " To all the girls I've loved before" Too cute!
And of course my cutest cowboys!!
The cookie party was such a blast!! wow!! To see ALL my pics click here.
Well more December life later...toodles!

Almost time and fun stuff
Well only a few days till the annual cookie swap! I'm sharing my invite with you. Unfortunately I forgot to rotate the pics again before uploading so you will have to tilt your head. Again the theme is Country Christmas so I made the invite like Saloon doors.
As I've said before I"m so excited about the party! Yee-haw!!
Did I post this? Sometimes I can't remember if it was here or facebook. Made these cute pilgrim hats for B's class for the preK Thanksgiving feast. The kids loved them!
My adorable little pilgrim!
Yes, had to buy this when I saw it!! It's perfect for my house, don't you think??
A little sidewalk art!
Pitiful that I didn't know Washington had a ponytail on the quarter until my baby drew it. It's facing the opposite way cause he's a lefty.
B was making his own art too!
Ok, so yes these are for the cookie party on Sat. These are not oreo truffles this time, they are back to the cake pop recipe using a cake mix and frosting and then coat with chocolate and decorate. Love the inspirations from Bakerella. I might even decide to do the reindeer too, not sure yet.
More cookie baking tonight and finishing up plans for the party! Toodles.
