hmmm

Well I seem to be improving daily thank goodness. Took a walk on the treadmill two nights ago and walked 2.5 miles. I felt good. I didn't push it too  much though since it was my first attempt. Today I'm going to try to walk between 4-5 miles and pick up the pace and see how I do. The weather is so beautiful that it's really making me want to run, but I'll be good and just do my walk outside to enjoy the weather. I should be able to try to do a short run tomorrow if all goes well.

Last night we took the boys bowling and then out for pizza. It was a nice family evening. The boys did good bowling. They almost beat me....yuk! Good thing it wasn't my real bowling night that would of been very bad. Our team shirts arrived yesterday! We are now officially a nerdy bowling team! Ha! I'll have to take a pic next Tuesday.

Today we are going to TKD in the morning and then taking the boys to see a jet. One of Dev's friends from school, her Dad flies jets and is bringing one in town and some kids are coming to check it out. (terrible sentence structure I know..sorry). But typing kinda quick. Then tonight we are having a couples night out. Really looking forward to it.

Finally got the upstairs Christmas tree taken down this morning. I know it's almost Feb!! Terrible! But things keep coming up and never got around to taking it down. At least it's not Christmas anymore upstairs at my house...hee hee!

What else?? I think that's about all I have now for an update. I am sure I'll be taking some pics today so I'll have them to share later. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!

Never boring

Well at least it's hardly ever boring here at my house!! Some of you know this, but for those of you that don't....Monday I started to have some shortness of breath. It started to progress and get worse throughout the day. I ended up going to an urgent care. My O2 level was pretty low and wheezing. Long story short I went to ER and had total of 4 breathing treatments and ended up staying one night in the hospital. They are thinking I had an asthma attack even though I don't have asthma. I wasn't running the day it happened or anything. I did pick up a small cold so maybe it triggered it, they aren't sure. So they let me come home last night but I'm on a steroid pack for 9 days and an inhaler 4x's a day for at least 5 days, then as needed. My O2 still isn't back up and still some slight wheezing but I'm feeling and breathing so much better than I was. But....I can't run for 4-5 days! eekk! This is horrible for me since I'm training. The Dr. did say I could walk on the treadmill so I'm planning to be doing that the next week until I can run again. So after this 9 days of meds he wants to see me about 2 weeks after and do some asthma testing to see if I really have asthma or if something else just triggered an attack. This is a bummer!! But if I do have the asthma, better to find out now and get the inhaler instead of it attacking me during my 1/2 marathon! That would not be good at all!!
Otherwise the rest is going normal. Bry went to his 2nd gymnastics class and loved it just as much as the 1st time so I'm happy about that. Dev is still playing indoor soccer and should be starting basketball sometime soon.

Again

Well it's another snow day! Well actually ice. We got about 1 inch or so of snow yesterday afternoon but they closed the schools today with concerns about ice. The boys got to stay home with Daddy while I went to work. The roads had their good and bads spots. The worst actual spot was the parking lot at my work. Pulled in and almost slid into the car next to me! eekk! When I got out it was like an ice skating rink under my car! Not good, but I made it in safely. The boys had to go on a sales call with Daddy and then he treated them to lunch at Red Lobster. I know they are enjoying that!! Last night Bry told me I was the best Mommy in the whole world and that Daddy was the awesome-ist Daddy in the whole world! So sweet!!

Got my 4.5 mile run in last night with a 1/2 mile walk aferwards. I felt great!! I'm hoping I feel that good tomorrow for my 7!!

I finally printed our pictures from our Disney cruise last year and added them to my photo album. It was so fun looking at the pictures! We had so much fun!! It made me so excited about our upcoming family Disney cruise in Sept!! It will be us, my in-laws, my mom and Mike's brother and family. We are going on the brand new Disney Dream ship that is having it's first sailing this week! The ship is huge!! It also has a waterslide on it that actually goes out over the ocean and then back to the ship! How cool!! Check out these pics!!

I'm hoping we can get on the ship very early like we did last time. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves! So I'm hoping we can do the same and be some of the first to ride the Aqua Duck!! Yes Granny....you are going down too!! LOL!! This will be the biggest cruise ship we've ever been on!! whoo hoo!!

He have birthday parties both days this weekend so the boys will be busy. The first one is at the Fire Museum. I'm excited, I know the boys will really enjoy it. Don't remember if I said it on here or not, but Dev has been before, I took him when he was about 3 or so, but Bry has never been. Dev still remembers stuff they told him! Wow! Then on Sunday we are back at the favorite bday spot....the jumping place. The boys will be so worn out and it's great! LOL!

They are also predicting possibly more snow Sunday night into Monday. Wow, we usually don't get this much snow. I sure hope it doesn't start adding days to the end of the school year for these days we are missing.

So proud of Dev. He read what I call his first "real" book! He read a 64 page book the other night all in one night! I was so proud of him!! I printed a chart out today for him to put stickers on for every book he reads. When he gets to 10 books he gets a special certificate I printed and when the chart is full he will get a special prize. He is very good at reading but sometimes lacks the motivation to do it. So hoping this might help because I know he can do it.  Bry on the other hand wants to read and does so great! I am amazed at how much he can read and be only in preK!! He also tries to sound out the words that he doesn't know. He is so funny! I printed a special certificate for him too. I am so proud of both of my boys!

Also it's another countdown!! Only 7 weeks till our Disney vacation with our friends from STL!! It's going to be so much fun!! I just can't wait. This will be the longest stay we have ever done in Disney at one time. We will arrive on Sunday and leave the following Saturday. We plan to go to 4 parks while we are there and we get to share it with some great friends!! It's exciting everytime we go because the boys are getting older each time and there are new things to do each visit! I hope it's a little warmer than it was last spring break. It was too cold to swim in the pool last March. Hopefully this year will be warmer and we can enjoy the resort pool too!

Oh yeah, Bry just loves to sing. I think I've mentioned this before. He sings just about anything and loves to sing in the car. I plan to by him the Kidz Bop CD this weekend with songs to sing along.  He made his debut a long time ago!! Check this out!! Love it!! Watch the video! He was 2 yrs old.

So funny story here...:

The other day we pulled up to a store front of a shopping mall and Dev asks me  "Mom, what is Tan N Go?" So I tell him, "It's a place where people go to get a tan." Then he asks, " Is that what you did to us?".....It was so cute! No baby, you were born that way!! :-)  I also wanted to tell him he was lucky because his was FREE!!!  I just love kids and the things they say!

Helped at the school this morning before work with Donuts with Dad. What a great turnout!! I was happy to see so many Dad's and Granddads there at the school eating a Doughnut with their kids. We are doing it again tommorrow morning too, we split the days with sections of the alphabet so it wouldn't be so crowded. Good thing, because judging by this morning it would of been way too crowded if we didn't split it up.

Did pretty good last night bowling. I bowled better than my average all 3 games. Our team won 3 of the 4 possible points so that wasn't bad! Last week Mom bowled a 176 game! Wow!! She had the highest women's score of the league last week. She will keep that title until someone beats her. We should find out later this week if anyone bowled higher. I know one girl next to me bowled 4 strikes in a row!! Wow!! But I'm not sure her final score. 

Busy weekend ahead with multiple birthday parties. Also have to get my 7 mile run in. Last week I was wrong about my schedule. I thought it was my 7 mile run, but it was really a 5K run. So I did my 3.1 instead. So this week so far I've done 4.7 and 3.2 and need to do another 4.5 tonight or thursday, then my 7 on Sat. Whew...I'm getting tired already and there's  still 5 weeks left of training...eekk!! oh well......gonna do it! LOL!

Sometimes

Sometimes it just takes a little creativity. The boys love stacking and restacking these cups. Then they use their cars and trucks to crash into them and knock them all down!

Dev's soccer team lost their first game Friday night. It was really frustrating because the other team was playing overly aggressive and began to intimidate our players. It was so hard to watch as the other team kept knocking our players down. But they didn't give up and played till the end. But you could tell they started to back off when the other team was running at them. Oh well. At least we don't have to play them again this season!

The boys were happy the weather was warm enough to play outside yesterday after we got home from the birthday party! The have really been wanting to play outside!

Three day weekend for the whole family! Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow if anything. Maybe I can talk Daddy into going to the movies with us. Maybe see Yogi bear, I think it's out already.

I was happy to see that all seasons of the Office are on Netflix! I bought Mike two seasons on DVD for Christmas. So luckily, we haven't opened them and will return them. We watched two episodes from the 1st season the other night. I know the show is kinda corny, but it cracks me up! Imagine your co-worker put your stapler in jello and chilled it so it was embedded in the jello and then sat it on your desk!! Too funny!

 Oh yeah, taking Bry to his first gymnastics class tomorrow! He is so flexible and seems like he'd be interested so we are going to take a trial class tomorrow. The place is a little drive from our house, but I want him to go to a place to really learn something. So we'll see how it goes and if he likes it.

When he gets to jumping on this thing he jumps for a long time! Sometimes  like 30 min! Maybe I should add that to my workout routine!! LOL

Thank goodness

Well it was a good morning on the way to school yesterday. I got Bry to wear the sweater vest that Dev refused to wear when he was in preK. Bry actually liked it. Now Bry is the same boy that went on strike from wearing striped shirts. He would say, "no more striped shirts please mommy!" Usually Dev is not picky, he will wear most anything and still is that way, he just didn't like the sweater vest I guess!

I do think he looks so very handsome!! And guess what?! He wanted to wear it again today! Yipee!! At least I'm getting my money's worth out of it!! I am happy about that.

Another soccer game tonight! Hope Dev's team wins! Thinking we might do dinner out after the game but we'll see what Daddy thinks.

Have to do my 7 mile run tomorrow! yuk! Not looking forward to it. My 6 mile run last weekend was great, I felt great and walked 0.7 miles after for a cool down. But, this week I have had trouble, not sure why. Been tired more than usual on small runs, frustrating! I hope tomorrow goes better than this week has. I did have a very carb lunch on the two days I ran, I'm thinking the carbs are what made it difficult. I ususally don't eat hardly any carbs at lunch. We'll see tomorrow if my theory is right.

Then taking boys to a birthday party. It will be a nice change since the weather has been so cold and they haven't been able to play outside.

Home day

We had our first snow day! Luckily it fell on my day off! I got to play in the snow with the boys! Almost hard to tell the diff between my boot and Dev's due to size! His foot is almost as big as mine already!

I got smart this year and blew up the pool donuts! Wow, they worked sooooo good!! The little hill at the end of our driveway was just enough to have fun!

I went down too! It was so fun, but didn't have the boys take any pics. They were too busy playing in the snow and having snowball fights.

I would say we got about 3 inches or so. Not too far south of us they got like 8-10 inches..wow!

Boys are out of school again today, but I'm working. They are home with Daddy. I think the schools just got nervous with threats of icing over night but the roads were fine this morning on my drive to work.

Started a new chore system with the boys. They each have a daily chore and then they get a sticker when it's done. At the end of the week, if they have all their stickers they get a treat. So far it's working great and they keep looking for more chores to do! I know it probably won't last long but so far so good.

Starting back bowling this week. I wasn't going to do the league again, but it did get fun near the end and I have a great name for our team...split happens! Ha...corny, but hey last time we were Just tryin'. so I like this better.

I say why not!

I say starting 2011 it's time for a change and why not!! I decided to change my hair. Here is the old me...

And now the new me!! YAY!  I really like it! I still have to adjust to seeing it a different color but I do really like it. I've never had my hair this color before. Never even put color in it until a few years ago and then the highlighting got a little out of control. I decided to get rid of the blond. The boys like it and Mike does too, but says he has to get used to it. LOL

I bought some hot rollers for the first time too! Thought I'd play around with them. I liked the outcome. We were going to a couples baby shower so it was a perfect time to try it out.

Well they are saying we are going to get 2-4 inches of snow today. We'll see. It does seem that we will get snow, just how much we will see. I pretty much figure there will be no school tomorrow. I'm glad I'm off so I don't have to drive in it. Now if I can get motivated to get all my Christmas decorations down. Whew..it is so much more fun to put them up then take them down!

Ran 6 miles yesterday. I had a great run and got a little confidence back that I can run the 13.1 next month. The month or so I took off from running was taking me awhile to get back at it with my endurance. But yesterday I felt great so I feel more confident now that with the weeks ahead of training I will be OK...heehee. Hoping I can beat my snail pace from last time by just a little!

Short story: on the way home yesterday in the car I asked B is any parents have come to his library class to read. He said only one great-great grandmother. Then D shouts out "oh-no.....that must of took a LONG time!"  It was so funny! I had to ask him why? He said because they were really really old!! Too funny!

The boys are adjusting pretty good to being back in school this week. Although, Mommy and Daddy might have to do some studying ourselves! Dev's homework is getting harder and I had to google whether the word can is a verb or not...oh my!! It's been a long time I know! I'm sure it's only going to get more interesting...but thank goodness for easy access to computers! LOL

I know I know

Yes I know, I owe pics on here. It's been a busy end of the year and beginning of the New Year. We took a trip down to Mobile for the New Year. We got to see friends and spend time with family and eat some great home cooking!! The boys had a great time. Although I think we were all in bed before the New Year.  Headed back on Sunday and had to get things ready for the week. Boys started back to school this week, so time to get back in the routine. We also got them back to TKD finally. We have been out for probably 3 months so the boys enjoyed going back.
Dev has an indoor soccer game on Friday and then Daddy is taking them to see Monster Trucks with another Daddy and boys. I'll be at home probably trying to take down all the Christmas decorations. Haven't had time to take any of them down yet.

Saturday I'm getting my hair done. Going for a different look to start the new year. I don't know exactly yet what i"m going to do, but it will be a surprise. I'll post pics, as long as I don't look hideous! LOL!
Then Granny is babysitting the boys while we go to a couples' baby shower. Looking for some gag gift ideas for the couple. I haven't come up with any yet, but hoping I can before the shower. It's their 4th baby!! So, they have alot of the usual stuff. I'm going to put on my creative hat and see what I can come up with.

Still running. Doing pretty good. Me and my work buddy ran at lunch today. It was a nice change from running on the treadmill. Although, we haven't ran those hills in probably more than a month and I could definetely tell! Eeekk!! Mom is doing great on her 5K training for Disney. She has been coming over and using the treadmill. I told her, it's only 8 weeks away...so time to get going!!
