Picture time

Last friday the boys were out of school so we took a trip to tour the battleship USS Kidd.

Yesterday Bry's class had a fieldtrip to the Strawberry patch. Lots of fun! Lots of yummy strawberries too!

Easter parties today.

Sack race Louisiana style, in a crawfish sack! LOL

Dev had to push an egg with his head!

Dev's sack race.

That's my quick post for now. Toodles!

Short stuff

Just a short post this time. Spent the weekend with a few soccer games and doing some yardwork. It was nice to be able to plant some flowers again. I love planting flowers. Next will be the flower bed in the back yard. It already has a few plants in it, but now I want to add a few more and also some pretty flowers.

Tomorrow is the Kindergarten field trip to the Strawberry patch. I'm so happy that I will get to go with Bry to pick strawberries.

I have a few employement opportunities in the works. Praying that the right one will come through.

Next week is spring break for the boys. Not sure what we are going to do yet. I'm hoping to be able to do a little something fun with them each day. I would of loved to take a few days away and go to the beach. But, it's the week before Easter and I have several events happening all week getting ready for the Easter Vigil service where I will be confirmed! yay! Speaking of Easter I must get out this week to get a few things for the boys since they will be home with me all next week!

Oh yeah, Dev lost another tooth! Wow, right now he has three holes where teeth used to be! LOL....his spring school pictures will be fun! :-)

The weather has been so wonderful. High's in 80s with a breeze and cool in 60's in the evening. Loving it!

What else? hmmm....Got the telescope out the other night and we all enjoyed looking at the moon, Jupiter and Venus. Very cool, our telescope isn't quite strong enough, but we were able to see pretty good.

That's about all for now. Toodles.

Great time

We had a great time on Sunday with a day trip to New Orleans. We went with another couple and their son. It was perfect weather!! The Cathedral was beautiful. We went inside and looked around, it is fabulous.

Mike decided to catch a horse....LOL.

The boys loved the trolley car ride. Dev insisted on holding onto the rope thing.

Hat posing in the French market.

Of course you can't go to New Orleans without having a Beignet from Cafe Du Monde. Wonderful afternoon treat.

We had a great time. I hope to take the boys back soon and check out the aquarium and the zoo. Maybe during Spring break.

This weather has been so great. Sunny and warm during the day with a light breeze and then cool at night. I've been keeping the windows open and letting the nice air flow through the house. So nice!!

The boys are across the street at the neighbors house jumping on the trampoline. They really love their new friends. I'm happy too because the parents are nice and watch their kids. The Dad told me he'd be out back watching them jump, that's great news to my ears!

The boys are out of school this Friday. I'm not sure yet what we will get into. I did see a place we might go that the boys can see some alligators. It's a kid friendly place that does tours and then they can even hold a baby alligator. The mouth is taped shut...so no worries. Then it's soccer games on Sat. and Sun for Dev.
Oh yeah, I am taking Bry tomorrow night to try out a gymnastics class. He really liked TKD but it just didn't work out at the school we took him. We can always try another school, but I'm going to take him to try the gymnastics. He's been talking about wanting to go back to gymnastics, so we'll try it and see how it goes. Somehow, I just know it will go well and he will love it. It's right up his alley with his flexibility and love to jump and bounce around!!  We also found out there is a swim facility not far from us. The family monthly rate isn't bad. A Mom from the school told us about it. We might have to check it out, I know this summer's heat is going to be brutal!!

Well time to check on the boys and get them home and settled for the evening. Toodles.

What's new

Well all is going well here. We are adjusting daily to our new place and loving it.
The boys wanted a special breakfast over the weekend so I made smiley pancakes. Very simple but they loved it.

Here are a few action shots of Dev at Soccer. He is doing well and getting a little more aggressive each game. He almost scored twice this last game, he just needed a little more power to his goal shot and he would of got them.

We went to the local small aircraft airport on Sat. The boys' school is having an art contest about aviation and they get bonus points if we go to the airport, take pictures and then send them into school. Ok, I'll all for bonus points!!

Then we took a sightseeing trip. I saw an interesting sign for a place called Cajun Village and it wasn't far so me and the boys went to check it out. It was alot of fun. There were antique gift shops and local tourist type gift shops too. Lots of alligator stuff too as you can see...ha ha.. Not sure about this thing but the boys wanted to pose with it. Notice B didn't get very close though! Ha ha.

There was an alligator pond in the back. I'm not sure if the two we saw were real or not. They didn't move, but they looked real. Every now and then the one you see in the pic would open his eyes and look around and then close them again..hmmmm.

Bry hasn't wanted to ride his bike because he didn't feel comfortable on it even with the training wheels. So yesterday I let the boys trade bikes. Dev's bike is a little smaller and the handle bars are set a little different. I didn't even put the training wheels on the bike for Bry. He took right off like a pro and rode it really great. We even all three went for a bike ride up and down the neighborhood street. yay!

Well that's about all I have for now. Dev has a soccer game this Sat. and I'm hoping maybe we can go to the St. Patrick's Day parade afterwards.
If the weather is nice maybe we can take a trip on Sunday to New Orleans with the boys for the day and do a little sight seeing there.
Toodles for now.

Finally

My baby boy finally lost his 1st tooth! He literally waited till it fell out totally on it's own! Too funny! The next tooth is already half way in!

Still unpacking and trying to gt organized around the house. Things are starting to fit right into their right place. Still have lots to do but at least the main living areas are presentable! LOL!

The boys got creative tonight and made their own beyblades out of legos! Pretty cool!

Dev is enjoying soccer. Bry has decided not to go back to TKD for now. I am hoping maybe next week I can check on a gymnastics class for him. The boys are so happy, the neighbors across  the street have a 7 yr old boy for them to play with and they also have a 5 year old girl. The kids have already played together both nights this week. The kids seem very sweet and the parents are nice too, yay!

Started back my running this week. Monday's 2 mile run was a little slow but I did it. I was pretty happy with my run considering my break was about 5-6 weeks. Hoping to maybe do 3 or 4 miles tomorrow. I'm just going to take it slow and not worry about my pace. I just want to build up my endurance again. Still thinking a full marathon around, before or after my 40th would be pretty cool. We'll see....I have several years to train....LOL....ha ha. I wish!

I am loving our new DVR at the new house. Our new service allows us to record up to 4 shows at once! And...we have 2 of them so potentially record up to 8 at once! whoa!! I don't quite need that, but the four will come in handy since alot of the shows I like all come on at the same time. Now, if I can find the time to watch all the shows I record!!! One of my new fav's is Swamp People!! Hee hee, just love the gator hunting! A couple of the people aren't too far from us! Funny!!!

Well time for the boys to have baths, gotta run. Toodles.
