The fish boys

Yay, so I'm posting some videos of the boys swimming! They did so great!!
First we'll start with Bry. He jumps into the deep end and gets a ring from the bottom!

Next is him attempting to swim with strokes! Wow...how great he does!

Now it's Dev's turn. This is his stroke swim...awesome!!

Now he's doing backstroke! Love how he turns around to take a break and then goes back to it! Funny!

Their new diving skills! B calls it head 2nd! Love it!

My new fish!!!

So proud of both of my boys for doing so great at swim lessons!!

The weekend

This past weekend was spent doing yard work and swimming. Well only the boys did swimming, but we all did yard work, even rounded up Mom to help...hee hee. I pulled weeds from all the flower beds and Mom and the boys and Daddy on sunday helped to put fresh mulch in all the beds. The beds look so much better now! The boys spent most of the weekend swimming in our little yard pool. WOW, the swim graduation went very well. haven't had time to upload videos yet, but they did great!  Both boys jumped into deep end and retrieved a ring from bottom of the pool! Both boys dove into the deep end and swam to the side of pool, and Dev did really good on his stroke swimming. Bry did good too considering he's younger. Dev also showed us backstroke! I am really proud of them. They have been like fish in our little pool swimming around underwater and looking for items they hide for each other!
So, it's only appropriate that we all will spend this whole upcoming weekend swimming...yay!! Im so excited! Almost spilled the beans a few times to the boys, but still keeping it a secret until Thursday night!! We will be close to the Dallas stadium also, so i think we might try to get there for a tour. The boys have never been inside a football stadium and I think they'd love it! And they do know who the Cowboys are and watched football last year, so i think it would be really neat and they would enjoy it! Even though it's not one of Daddy's fav teams...LOL.
Been trying some new things with my running. I have been doing sprint intervals. Wow, it has really helped my speed and endurance! I figured I'll start mixing this in with my regular runs and see what happens.
Our neighbors finally sold their house and are moving out on Thursday. The new neighbors will be moving in this weekend. It will be sad and strange with our neighbors gone, they are the ones we have really gotten to know of the whole street. But they will be much closer to school and sporting events for their kids, so they will be so much happier on that front!
I think that's all for now. Toodles.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY!!

Yippee!! It has been a really long slow week!! So happy it's Friday!!
Tonight the boys have their swim graduation!! yay!! Last year i had to work and didn't get to see it in person. Daddy did video it so I could see it, but this time I get to be there! I'm so happy. Bry has had a little trouble going everyday and shedding a few tears but seems to always do great and be fine afterwards. I'm excited to see the progress they have made!

Tried a new recipe today and let's just say YUMMO!!  They are Fluffernutter Cake bars. Yes, wierd word, some people thought I made it up but didn't. Got the recipe from over at Picky Palate. These bars were so easy to make, few ingredients and taste scrumptious!! We'll see what everyone else thinks at work today once they try them! This is her pic of them...they really are so good if you like peanut butter, marshmallows and white chocolate chips!!

Gooey White Chocolate Fluffernutter Cake Bars

1 box Yellow Cake Mix
1 large egg
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup marshmallow creme
1 small can sweetened condensed milk
12 ounce bag white chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 9×13 inch baking dish with foil and spray with cooking spray.
1. Place cake mix, egg, and butter into a large bowl. Mix until well combined, will be the consistency of thick cookie dough. I used my hands towards the ends. Press dough into prepared baking pan.
2. Place peanut butter, marshmallow creme and condensed milk into a large bowl and mix until well combined. Pour over crust then top with white chips. Bake for 23-25 minutes, until cooked through. Center will seem somewhat jiggly, but will set up while cools.
3. Let cool completely, cut into squares and serve.

Again...YUMMO!!!

Countdown to our water vacation,...whoo hoo! Although, I have to work Monday so that's a bummer, but it's worth it to be off for the long weekend!

Looking forward to our celebration dinner after the swim graduation tonight. I'm not sure yet where we are going to go. Last Friday we took the boys to Red Robin. Ohh.. I really love their burgers. The boys actually chose to have pizza which was really strange, but I enjoyed the Burnin' Love Burger!! Spicy goodness!! I'm totally fine if we go there again!! :-)

Well hope everyone has a great weekend and check back for some swim videos! Toodles.

Doing our thing

So we have been doing our thing around the house lately. We have some new neighbors that have twin 7 year old boys. My boys are happy about that and have been playing with them. They have a pool!! whoo hoo, they invited us down and we headed down. This is how the boys got the pool donuts back to our house, only thing....wish I had a pic of Dev bringing both tubes down to us all by himself and riding this bike thing...THAT would of been a great pic!! LOL!

The past two Mondays we have hit the water spray park. I don't think we went at all last year so this was nice and new again for the boys. Although, the first time I forgot my camera, I know a big shocker!! Dev's friend joined us too. It was nice to watch them play while us Moms sat and chatted.

Bucket dumping time!

Or watch out for friends trying to dump theirs on you..ha ha...

Let's all dump our buckets. I like how this pic shows a different point of the pouring for each boy, funny.

This is my new fav pic!! They were all three sitting there on the buckets and this pic idea popped into my head..hilarious!! Mostly because they had no idea what I was making them do! LOL

The boys got to see their Great Aunt and Great Uncle. They were making a real short visit through town on their way for a multi day/week road trip. The boys have only met them once before about 5 years ago or so.

The boys are having their swim lessons this week. After the first class the teacher wanted to move them to a more advanced class, I'm happy about that. Bry is still a little apprehensive about it, but he does really great. She said he cried some yesterday but still did really great! Friday is their swim graduation and I'm happy I will be able to be there this year to see them perform  :-)

Counting down to the holiday weekend yay!! We are taking the boys on a suprise vacation! I haven't told them about it yet. Not sure if i shared this here yet or not..anyway....we are taking them to a huge indoor water park! This will be perfect after finishing their swim lessons! I'm not telling them so that the excitement of the trip doesn't make them act totally crazy the week before the trip. You other parents know what i'm talking about, at least I hope mine aren't the only ones. They get so excited that they start acting crazy and getting in trouble. So this time I'm not telling them until the day before! whoo hoo! I'm excited too! We've never been but we have friends that have been and say it's spectacular! So exciting!!

Then the following weekend it's a girls road trip!! We are taking Mom to MN for her 60th birthday so that she can see her family that lives there! It's going to be a lot of fun! It will be me, Mom and my sis. We are going to stop in Minneapolis on the way there and shop around at the Mall of America and stay the night! If you haven't heard of it, you should google it...it's humungous! (not sure I spelled that right?! hee hee) The boys get to have fun with Daddy all weekend while we are gone!

Can't believe half of the summer is almost over! It's going by too fast!! The boys are really wanting to go see Cars 2 this weekend!! I think we might go on Sunday, or I might see if Daddy wants to take them when I'm gone for the weekend. We'll see. Other than that we'll probably work on some house projects and yard work .I've let the weeds get a little out of control in some spots...ugh...I guess if I'd stay on top of them and spray and pull then this wouldn't happen. But it's been pretty hot and the idea of cleaning flower beds and pulling weeds hasnt' been appealing at all!

Well I think that's about all for now...happy hump day!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad and to my husband!

This is a great quote:

"To the world you may only be one person, but to one person you may be the world!"

Relaxing and enjoying the day. Boys made Daddy breakfast this morning and want to take him to see Kung Fu Panda...ha ha...I think it's them that want to see it even though they say it's Daddy that wants too. LOL.

More Summer Fun

The boys started getting creative with their drifter bikes and riding double.

I did get the pool up! It had two small leaks that we patched with bike flat repair stuff. Wierd, not sure how the holes got there! The top ring also has a slow leak, but we are making it work. I just keep blowing it up everyday. The boys got to swim in it again last night after school, they are loving it!!

Looks like someone is taking after Mommy. He wanted to make Granny a special treat. He decided all himself what treat and how to decorate it. Sweet!

A cute bear pancake. I did help a little in the presentation, I put the bear under the sombrero in the pic...LOL!

Headed to visit Dad on sunday and share some of our fresh picked blueberries.

Almost caught a pic of the hummingbird at the feeder, he was fast!

This pic is out of order, but just had to take a pic of Dev's lined up army men.

Back to Dad's house, the boys enjoyed the large sun hat sombrero's!

The boys are staying at Granny's for two nights this week. Whoa...not sure what to do with myself! It will be way too quiet around my house!! I am contemplating being lazy instead of productive, we'll see what happens!

A quick pic post

Well I pretty much told you all about it so here's the pics! Check out all the blueberry bushes! And they taste great right off the bush too! So far we've had blueberry ice cream, blueberry pancakes, cereal with blueberries, and blueberry with cool whip! yummy!! Hoping to find a cobbler recipe maybe for the weekend!

We had a great time at the spray park yesterday, I forgot my camera though! Can you believe it?! We made it home just as the sky was falling and a huge storm rolled in!!
Back to work today..yuk!! Toodles.

hey hey

Yes still here! Yesterday was a fun filled jam packed day!! We were out the house at 730am headed to the blueberry patch to pick some blueberries. Wow, it was really fun and we all had a great time. We were leaving there at 830 and we were already sweating, it was getting hot already!  Then Bry spent some time at Granny's house while Dev and I ran some errands.  Home for lunch and then out to Dev's soccer meeting to complete his registration for the team, then 2 hour birthday party at the jump place , and a trip to Whole Foods to look for some healthy food items. The boys were getting so grouchy in the store and sure enough were asleep before 5 minutes down the road on our way home.
We have so many blueberries!yay! I already made the mixture and it's cooling in the fridge for homemade sugarfree blueberry ice cream! Yum, I'll be putting it in the ice cream maker later and then eating it, can't wait! I also want to find a blueberry pie recipe. I want to try to make it low carb and sugarfree, we'll see what I can find.
I do have pics to post but that will be later. Heading out the door now to share some blueberries with Dad, then home and maybe the boys will play in the sprinkler or something.
Taking the boys to the water spray park tomorrow with some friends. We haven't been in a year or so. Didn't go last year. I've decided to skip the Y renewal so we will using our creative brains to keep cool during June.
Toodles for now.

You can tell it's summer

You can surely tell it's summer around here! Not only is it steamy hot already, but I'm slacking a little on the blog front.
Wanted to share a few pics of Bry doing great on his little bike without the training wheels. He seems to be almost a pro now! He even did 3.1 miles on that little thing with me and Dev on Monday. Wow!

Go Bry Bry go!! :-)  Although he switched back to his big boy bike and was riding in the circle and crashed right into someone's mailbox! eekk! Scared me to death and the short run down the street felt like 10 miles to me and not to mention trying to run in my flip flops!! Luckily he was OK, just a little scared but got back on and kept going.

My little water boy. He cracks me up. He likes to help water the plants, but mostly waters everything else instead...LOL.

Love my burgundy lillies that have came back wonderful this year. The color doesn't look quite as great in this pic but they are beautiful. The flowers bloomed while we were gone over the holiday weekend and the heat made them loose their flowers quickly, hardly got to see my yellow ones....

Forgot about this thing I planted. I don't remember what it is, but love the tube shaped flowers.

The weather has been so very hot. We would have to play outside for alittle while and then come back in to cool off.
On monday the boys and I had a great day. We played outside awhile and went for a bike ride. The weather was just slightly cooler. Then Dev had a dental appt. After the appt. we went to Old Navy to use my groupon...yeah! and then got free shakes at Chic Fil A with coupons I had. We later met up with some of Dev's school friends and had a bowling date and then went to the park for a little bit. It was quite a full day but it was so much fun just doing whatever we wanted all day long! Love those summer days!

This weekend is a birthday party and also a soccer meeting for Dev. He tried out for a local competitive team and made the team! yeah! He is excited. All the other teams he has played on were just recreational type leagues so it will be interesting to see how this goes. Figured we try it out for ourselves and see how he likes it and how he does. But we are very proud of him for making the team. Another parent had told Mike that if you don't make the team you could still be on a practice squad to learn skills for next year, but no need for that...he's on the team! Way to go Dev!!
Haven't decided if I want to renew our YMCA membership for the summer or not. I would love to go and hang out at the pool, but we won't have too much time to do it. I'm trying to weigh out how much time we'd actually go versus the cost.  We really only have June left because we will busy most weekends in July and that's really the only time we would go besides some Mondays when I'm off. Hmm...I do still have the yard pool option too. I just need to clean it up and get some cholrine tabs...decisions, decisions...ha ha..
We have some fun things planned for July. Going to be a fun month!
Well I think that's all for now. Maybe I will take the boys to see Rio this weekend while Daddy is gone playing in a golf tournament. We'd be nice and cool while he's sweating his booty off...ha ha...
toodles for now.
