Rain- no sunshine

It has been a pretty good week. But the weekend is supposed to be water logged. They are predicting 10 inches of rain...huh??? not sure about that but they are saying rain all weekend. yuk!
Planning to rid the house of tons, thousands of dust mites this weekend. yuk also! I have been reading up on it to help my allergies and you don't even want to know. But I'm going to do my best this weekend to help us all out and dust/wash and declutter the house of dust traps and get the beds covered with dust mite protection covers and brand new pillows with dust mite covers. These are among a few of the things in my plan. sounds like fun right?? NOT!!
Tonight is movie night and we are going to watch the very first Harry Potter movie with the boys. I am excited because I think they are really going to like it. Of course, we won't finish it tonight but we have the whole rainy weekend to finish it.
Can't believe it's only 4 weeks of school left and then I will have (after summer) a preKer and and a 1st grader....my oh my....I just can't believe it!!
Well time to get cuddled up to watch Harry...toodles!

Rain and sunshine

Our weekend started out kinda rough with some bad storms. It rained alot and we had a few tornado warnings, but luckily none of the tornados hit here. My heart goes out to the families that the tornado struck further south of us. Sunday the men played in a golf tourney so my friend and I took our boys to the zoo. The weather was really pretty most of the day. It did start to lightly rain on us right at the end but that was Ok.

The zoo has a new exhibit with wolves, elk, and bears. The boys really enjoyed watching the bears swim up close to the window wall. Those bears were pretty big and their claws were long....yikes!
Of course what is a zoo trip without an icecream treat!! Niether of the boys were actually able to eat the whole thing! I'm sure it won't be long before they are able to!

We had a great day at the zoo!
I had my follow up appointment at the allergy doctor. Ha! I knew I was allergic and I think they didn't believe me until they saw the results! I am HIGHLY allergic to many things!! When I say highly....the range would be 0- 0.25 and mine was 65!! That would be highly to say the least! Also there is also a certain overall factor they test your blood for and the range is 0-160 and mine was 308! Go figure! So I will start back on my allergy drops next week! I am excited to get back to being able to breathe! Shame on me that I stopped taking them a few months back, but I paid the price. But I am happy that I got a current test and that I will get probably a better dose of what I need. My last allergy test was from 2004. One thing I found interesting is that in the 04 test I was allergic to dogs and cats, not really high, but I was. On this test I am not allergic to dogs or cats. In 2004 we had two dogs and had them for several years. But we adopted them out in 2005. So not sure if not having them anymore has helped or if the drops helped but I'm happy that I don't have at least those allergies anymore! Just basically all the other stuff like dust, trees, grasses, flowers...ha everything that is outside and inside...lovely! But I will get some relief soon! the doctor also said to get a hypoallergenic mattress cover and pillow covers to help also. So I will be out shopping for those today. And by the way for any other allergy people. You must wash your sheets in hot water, the warm water will not kill the dust mites. I tell everyone I talk to that seems to have allergy problems that they need to go get tested! The over the counter meds only treat symptoms they don't treat the actual problem, therefore you don't get true relief!
Going on Thursday morning back to my orthodontist to complain and demand my way! As I think I already said, two of my three teeth are coming in very well. They are both almost all the way in. The last one is being very stubborn and won't budge! It is really start to pull my other teeth around it down instead of pulling that one up! I've had enough and I don't want them pulled any lower. I was supposed to go back next Tuesday but I called to go in this week. I want to tell him that I'm done trying to pull that up with the problem that the others are being pulled down. Now they have to be pulled back up! ugh! So I think I might resort to just having a fake one put there. Not sure....but I want him to know how I feel. He is really nice but will probably try to talk me out of it. But I've pretty much made up my mind. I mean really this has been already a 2 yr process in July!!! Can you believe it! And I had pretty much perfect teeth before this except for this slight dilemma. Things have worked out pretty well up to this point, but my patience has gone.....So he'll be happy to see me as I walk in the office saying "take it off! I want these off and fix my teeth!" hee hee! We'll see what happens!
Just wanted to post a happy moment within the sad ones. My dad has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer. He had a test done and we got the results that is has not spread anywhere else! That is the best news we have heard in weeks!!! We are so thankful! He is going to have a rough next 7-14 weeks but the prognosis is that he will be cured after this! We will be right by his side to help him through these rough times, but then he'll have many fun years ahead to watch my boys grow up! Love you Dad!
Well time to work on some of my to do list for today. Groceries, laundry, watching my tivo'd shows, the usual stuff. Both boys have baseball games tonight, so we have a double header! Toodles for now.

More stuff

Well I made it through the week! B did good at his baseball games. We had rough storms here so we skipped the baseball pics today. I'm sure I will take plenty myself though! Frustrated with Idol! Not a good season at all! Also frustrated with Survivor! Those people need brains! Russell better not win, is all I have to say!
I have a small black eye. Just on the top though. Wrestling in the bed with B= a 4 yr old bony knee + a mommy's eyebrow area = Pain, bruising, and slight swelling and some soreness. It could of been worse so I'm not worried. Considering the boys are 4 and 6 and this is practically my first injury, I think I'm doing pretty good! :-)
Well just wanted to add a short post. Headed to the grocery store and probably to pick up a few movies and Wii game rentals for this rainy weather. I'll try to get back this weekend with some more pics.

I think I finally found it!

We decided to take the boys to the Botanical Gardens on Sat. The weather was beautiful! They have a really cool area called the big backyard with a giant treehouse play area. The boys loved it.
They got to walk in a giant birds nest.

And sit on the back of a dog with a large doghouse.

The boys loved watching people feed the huge Koi in the pond.

We finished the day by taking the boys out to eat at Macaroni Grill. It was a very nice day.
So apparently there was a new editor available for my blog. I jumped right into it and didn't read all the info so this post is a test of how I could do without the instructions. I'm sure my next post will be better after thoroughly reading the instructions.
Mike went racing all day Sunday so I took the boys to the playground for a few hours. We came home for lunch and enjoyed the rest of the day in the yard playing. I was sitting in the chair catching a small cat nap outside and was awaken to D screaming. He had gotten dirt splashed up into his eyes. So we spent about 10 minutes trying to get all the dirt out of his eyes. He did pretty good letting me get the dirt out, but only after I was able to get him to calm down. He is quite dramatic at times. But we finally got the dirt out and headed back outside. Although the three of us are paying for our outside playing today. I think the boys have my wonderful allergies and we were sneezing all last night and stuffy this morning. I am going next week to get my treatment options from my allergy doctor. I had a new blood test done last week showing ALL the things I am allergic to. I think the dr. himself was pretty suprised. So I will see what other options he has besides allergy drops. I also plan to talk to him about the boys. B is currently on an inhaler until fall and D is just taking daily spoonfuls of honey right now. Believe it or not I think the honey is working for him. He is better than without the honey. I gave him Zyrtec awhile but he seems just fine without it and only the honey. But I want to see what the dr. thinks when I go back to see him. Maybe they need an allergy blood test? I don't know.
I also got to pull out a loose tooth this weekend. This is D's 3rd tooth to come out. He was eating a sandwich and it hurt him. When I looked in his mouth the tooth was pointing almost towards the back of his throat instead of striaght up. It was so loose I could wiggle and turn it all different directions. But I just couldn't get a good grip on the tiny tooth. I got the tweezers and after multiple attempts, I finally pulled the tooth out. D didn't even know I had pulled it out. It was funny. But the tooth fairy forgot to come! Oops! D came in my room the next morning saying the tooth fairy didn't leave anything! OH NO!! I convinced him to go back up while I was getting up and I rounded up some quarters to somehow get into his room. It worked out perfect that when I got up there he had to go to the bathroom to get a tissue. I quickly put the quarters next to the tooth fairy basket. "Look here they are! she just didn't put them in the basket" But then he opened the tooth holder and the tooth was still there! Ugh, she forgot to take it! After a short story that she probably wanted him to keep this one we were all good. whew! It was very sweet though that he decided to share $1 of his $2 dollars from the tooth fairy with his brother....so sweet!
Well that's about all for now, back to laundry before picking up the boys from school. B has a baseball game tonight so he's very excited about that. Toodles.

Another attempt

Ok so I'm hoping whatever the layout problem was is now fixed. Here are a few pics of my boys playing in their first games. They both got hits from pitches and I was such a proud mommy! B is playing for the Angels. My little angel! :-)

I don't think the layout problem is fixed! ugh!! I couldn't get it to let me type between the pics. This is frustrating because I didn't change anything in the formatting. Oh well I got to at least share them with you.
We had a wonderful time at the Botanical Gardens yesterday. The weather was wonderful and then we enjoyed a great dinner out with the boys. They always enjoy eating out.
Well better go get breakfast going for my hungry boys!

Not a fun ending week

The boys had games this week which were alot of fun. I have some pics to share but it will be later this weekend. The week ended pretty bad with a double dose of bad news! So lots of prayers are needed!! It's going to be a tough road ahead but I know things will work out for the best, I just know it!
Planning to get away from the house today and take the boys to the Botanical Gardens. The are supposed to have a really nice kids area. The weather is great for it today.
Well this is a short post but just wanted to give a little update. I hope to be back later with some pics. Toodles.

Gonna try again

Well, I haven't figured out the layout problem so I'm going to take the easy route. You can see our Easter and Baptism pictures right here. The adorable chicks and bunnies are courtesy ideas from one of my fav sites www.bakerella.com. We had a wonderful Easter weekend with all the family. B and my neice did pretty well at the Baptism also. They both cried of course but we made it through. They enjoyed the multiple egg hunts at home too with such wonderful weather.
We have been doing the usual family stuff. Baseball practice, school, work, taekwondo, a fever here and there and my sinuses are driving me up the wall! I go on Monday to a new Dr. and I'm hoping for the best treatment....allergy shots! I'm hoping for some relief in 1 1/2 days...whoo hoo! The weather and pollen has really been getting to B also. He had two terrible nose bleeds last night. Today at his baseball practice he had another one and we had to leave because I didn't think it was going to stop. Luckily the bleeding stopped, but I think it's time for another trip to the dr. for him also, poor thing.
Tonight is the annual Spring Gala dance/Silent Auction at D's school. I am very excited. Last year I won a wonderful coffee basket if you remember. They have some really cool door prizes and a split the pot raffle I hope to win! Mom is going as my partner this year. Mike was going to be gone with the boys out of town today but changed plans and is getting ready for an RC car race tomorrow. I might just bid on a few things tonight without him there...hee hee! Hoping my sinuses stay in check so I can have a drink or two and maybe a few jello shots! :-) Here is the great time we had last year! Well gotta run and start to get freshened up for the night ahead! Toodles!

ugh!

So I'm not sure the problem! I just tried to do another post with pics and the layout is all whacked out! I deleted it for now and will work on it later! This is frustrating! I'm not sure what happened, I haven't changed anything. Sorry, I will be back soon with pics hopefully, if I can figure out the layout problem.
