Our weekend started out kinda rough with some bad storms. It rained alot and we had a few tornado warnings, but luckily none of the tornados hit here. My heart goes out to the families that the tornado struck further south of us. Sunday the men played in a golf tourney so my friend and I took our boys to the zoo. The weather was really pretty most of the day. It did start to lightly rain on us right at the end but that was Ok.
The zoo has a new exhibit with wolves, elk, and bears. The boys really enjoyed watching the bears swim up close to the window wall. Those bears were pretty big and their claws were long....yikes!
Of course what is a zoo trip without an icecream treat!! Niether of the boys were actually able to eat the whole thing! I'm sure it won't be long before they are able to!
We had a great day at the zoo!
I had my follow up appointment at the allergy doctor. Ha! I knew I was allergic and I think they didn't believe me until they saw the results! I am HIGHLY allergic to many things!! When I say highly....the range would be 0- 0.25 and mine was 65!! That would be highly to say the least! Also there is also a certain overall factor they test your blood for and the range is 0-160 and mine was 308! Go figure! So I will start back on my allergy drops next week! I am excited to get back to being able to breathe! Shame on me that I stopped taking them a few months back, but I paid the price. But I am happy that I got a current test and that I will get probably a better dose of what I need. My last allergy test was from 2004. One thing I found interesting is that in the 04 test I was allergic to dogs and cats, not really high, but I was. On this test I am not allergic to dogs or cats. In 2004 we had two dogs and had them for several years. But we adopted them out in 2005. So not sure if not having them anymore has helped or if the drops helped but I'm happy that I don't have at least those allergies anymore! Just basically all the other stuff like dust, trees, grasses, flowers...ha everything that is outside and inside...lovely! But I will get some relief soon! the doctor also said to get a hypoallergenic mattress cover and pillow covers to help also. So I will be out shopping for those today. And by the way for any other allergy people. You must wash your sheets in hot water, the warm water will not kill the dust mites. I tell everyone I talk to that seems to have allergy problems that they need to go get tested! The over the counter meds only treat symptoms they don't treat the actual problem, therefore you don't get true relief!
Going on Thursday morning back to my orthodontist to complain and demand my way! As I think I already said, two of my three teeth are coming in very well. They are both almost all the way in. The last one is being very stubborn and won't budge! It is really start to pull my other teeth around it down instead of pulling that one up! I've had enough and I don't want them pulled any lower. I was supposed to go back next Tuesday but I called to go in this week. I want to tell him that I'm done trying to pull that up with the problem that the others are being pulled down. Now they have to be pulled back up! ugh! So I think I might resort to just having a fake one put there. Not sure....but I want him to know how I feel. He is really nice but will probably try to talk me out of it. But I've pretty much made up my mind. I mean really this has been already a 2 yr process in July!!! Can you believe it! And I had pretty much perfect teeth before this except for this slight dilemma. Things have worked out pretty well up to this point, but my patience has gone.....So he'll be happy to see me as I walk in the office saying "take it off! I want these off and fix my teeth!" hee hee! We'll see what happens!
Just wanted to post a happy moment within the sad ones. My dad has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer. He had a test done and we got the results that is has not spread anywhere else! That is the best news we have heard in weeks!!! We are so thankful! He is going to have a rough next 7-14 weeks but the prognosis is that he will be cured after this! We will be right by his side to help him through these rough times, but then he'll have many fun years ahead to watch my boys grow up! Love you Dad!
Well time to work on some of my to do list for today. Groceries, laundry, watching my tivo'd shows, the usual stuff. Both boys have baseball games tonight, so we have a double header! Toodles for now.
