A few weekends ago we did some touring around downtown Baton Rouge. We went to the Capitol building, that was very interesting and it had beautiful views from an observatory about 30 stories up!
We have been looking around at houses here, but it's kinda depressing. It's much more expensive than where we are coming from...boo! We did find one we like but not sure how long it will last. We aren't ready to write the contract on it yet.
We are heading back to our house this weekend. It will be great to see family and some friends. We need to get some items that we didn't bring and I want to try to spruce up the house a little bit now that we are out of it and make it more show staged ready.
The boys have a long weekend next weekend for fall break. I think we might head to New Orleans and visit the zoo and the aquarium. Its only an hour away so that's not bad at all.
I'm finding my way around town pretty good and getting to learn where things are. I've put out applications and resumes for some jobs, but no responses yet. It took me about 2 months to find a job last time we moved, so it's only been about 3 weeks or so here. Hoping I can find a job I love like I had before!
It's very wierd being in a new town and not knowing anyone. The Mom's at the bus stop seem nice but it's just not the same. I keep thinking we are on some kind of extended vacation, but we are not.... :-( I know it will all work out, it will just take some time.
I am looking forward to getting my Halloween stuff to bring back so I can decorate a little. I'm feeling lost not doing my decorating and not planning for a witch party like last year...that was so much fun! I'll have to get back in creative mode the next few weeks with Halloween treats for the boys.
I have been doing my running still, so that's good. I need to hit the complex workout room and add in the weights while I have access to them. You'd think I would since I have a lot of free time now, but it's been kinda hard to get really motivated. But I'm going to try to have a new outlook next week and get going.
Oh yeah, on a positive note, I ran a 10K with two girlfriends before I moved. It was a small race, but I got 1st place in my age group!!! hee hee... Only time I'll get 1st place but that's ok , I'll take it!! :-)
