We saw this huge rainbow on our way back home.
This was the play area at Blu Rabbit.
Like father, like sons!
Boys, boys everywhere! We had two and they have three.
D really liked being eaten by the deflating air mattress.
Some beach pics...hope you can get there soon Susan!
Completely sun tired!
I little hat trick on the trip down there.
Finally a little update on our little vacation while daddy was working. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at his parents when we arrived. My MIL is such a great cook! The boys couldn't wait to get there and have some chicken salad! We did some catching up and then watched Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. We had already seen it and his parents hadn't. I thought it was a pretty good movie. I usually don't care much for Monique, she's pretty obnoxious but I thought she played a perfect part in the movie, and believable...hee hee.
The next day the boys and I were supposed to hang out with some friends of our and their boys. Lisa was under the weather and i didn't think we'd be going over so we packed our bags and headed to the beach. The boys were very excited to go to the beach. We got there and finally settled on our large sheet near the water. The boys have only been to the beach maybe twice for D and once for B. They were pretty apprehensive about the water. I didn't expect them to jump in or anything but they wouldn't even really get their feet wet. Oh well, we filled buckets with sand and shells and walked along the water. A girl nearby caught a jellyfish about the size of a grapefruit. She had it in a bucket and showed it to the boys. She then caught a baby seahorse. Wow, I don't know how she caught it but it was pretty cool. The boys wanted to eat their chips so we headed back to the sheet. Silly mommy, didn't bring not even one wet wipe to the beach. Yes I had plenty in the car, but the seemingly 5 mile walk back to the car was definetly out of the question. I caught some water in their bucket and sorta washed their hands enough to get the sand off. It worked well enough, but note to self to not forget the wet wipes next time!! About an hour after arriving at the beach B was ready to go. I think he was just getting hot, tired, hungry and little irritated and the constant sand on his hands. So we packed it all up to head back to the car. He refused to walk, so that made it extremely fun.........NOT!!!!! Remember the seemingly 5 mile walk. Well I'm by myself and have D walking slowly behind while I'm toting B about 30lbs. or so and my overstuffed too small of a beach bag with all the towels and toys and ect. Finally we made it back to the car, thank goodness!! We really had a good time, but it would of been a little bit easier with another set of hands, that's for sure! We stopped to get lunch for the car ride back and B was so tired he didn't want to even eat and fell asleep within 5 minutes. D fell asleep too as I drove through a torrential rainstorm lightning and all only about 10 minutes from the beach. Typical gulf coast!! Then about 30 minutes I was in dry land and never saw another drop of rain.
We headed back to my inlaws to rinse off. Meanwhile Lisa called and was feeling much better. Her boys were begging for my boys to come over so we did. They had lots of fun playing. I couldn't believe how big her youngest was. Last we saw him he was only about 4 months old and now he's 14 months old. WOW!! We grilled out and let the boys run all over the back yard to wear themselves out more before we headed back for bed. Great time!!
Our last day we headed back to Lisa's house. We drove through an isolated torrential rainstorm again! When we got to her house it was bone dry and never rained. Only 10 minutes from the storm! The boys played and played. We left around lunch time and headed to a place called Blu Rabbit. Kinda like a Chuck E Cheese. The boys had a good time, but boy were there some really rambunctious(sp?) awnry kids running around. I couldn't believe it. I almost felt like we were at the place where all the parents of out of control kids took them to let them run wild...seriously. B got knocked down twice and didn't want to play anymore. Blame him? Nonetheless they got good and tired for the ride home and fell asleep minutes after we hit the road to head home.
We had a great trip, but it was short. I wish we would of had more time to spend with the family and to see others but I knew it would be short. We'll have to head back down soon for a longer weekend.
I've spent the weekend working on some house projects. Moving furniture around, hanging some new curtains(thanks mom!) and ordering more, cleaning out Mike's office(he doesn't know it yet and prob won't be happy). He hates it when I move all his stuff around, but I'm thinking of moving some(make that all) of my craft stuff into his office and out of the dining room. I really want to get a new casual dining room table and therefore i need to permanently move all my crafts so we can actually use the table. I don't know how he'll like the idea but we'll see.
We'll that's all for now, time to go get the boys in bed and relax for the evening. I think I'll have a glass of wine too!! I'll end this with some pics from the trip. Good night.
Oh yeah, don't you just love the bobble head trophy (as D says his Piston Cup) from his end of season tball party. Too cute!
We did a little artwork on Sat. using anything I could find that they could glue down. They enjoyed eating the pretzels more than using them for art. Smart boys.
