A bunch of BS
Blog Slacking that is!!!
It seems as though the days have flown by. We've had a good weekend. My inlaws were in town and the boys and my niece got to spend quality time with their grandparents. Amanda and I even got to have a few hours to ourselves and do some therapeutic shopping, thanks for the babysitting!! The big boys have been gone all weekend for a remote control car race/tournament type thing. I tried to go out and take pics, but the timing has just been off and it's been to stinkin' hot!! Almost a 100!! I think we'll get the slip n slide out later!
I got to see my beautiful niece and take more pics!! She is really loving to smile now! I'll have them posted maybe later today. Meanwhile the boys just laid down for a nap, we've been out doing a little more shopping and then lunch with my mom and sis. So I think I'll go lay on the couch and veg and watch a little Tivo'd Jon & Kate plus 8. Toodles for now, and I hope to post some pics later today.

N training
Well my 5K training is going Ok so far. Last week Amanda and I went to the Intermediate I runner group. We decided we wanted more of a challenge for the training and final end result so we moved to the Intermediate II group this week. Well it was a challenge. I am happy that I did the whole training with Amanda only about 20 people ahead of me. The hills in the park that we are training in are getting to me a little. I have been practicing on the levelness of the treadmill. The coaches got fancy at the end. We ran for 5 min then walked for 3 minutes continually rotating back and forth for 30 minutes. Well the last 5 minute run started at the bottom of a hill. My pace was definetely slower heading up the hill and it was the last 5 minute run for the evening. Well I was watching my watch intently waiting to stop running, I was feeling the hills and I was very tired. So as the 5 minute mark hit I started to walk, well wait....the rest kept running and there was no signal to walk. What....??maybe I got confused with the time so I started to run again. Another minute past and I stopped...wait...they are still running! WTF! I was exhausted now and headed up yet another hill, I walked then ran and walked then ran until they finally stopped running. At the 8 minute mark!! Was this a cruel joke or what?? Amanda did wonderful and kept running the whole time...I fell behind and had to walk in those final trickery minutes. So we are stretching and the coaches are snickering and asking did any of us know how long the final run was??? I DID! There were others too that like me were watching their watches waiting for the minute to stop. Nonetheless in my mind I did the training session. We were only supposed to run 5 minute intervals.
Tonight me and Amanda were supposed to go running but my hubby is out of town. So tomorrow I'm heading to the Y to train some more. I only plan to really run on the streets with the running training group on Monday nights. I know the hills affect my run differently but I got shin splints before from running on the hard road and my legs feel a little tender from the run the other night so I'm sticking to the treadmill for my two other trainings. I have to do 2 more sessions this week before our next training on monday night. It's gonna be a killer! I think we are going to run 7 min and walk 3 for about 30 minutes. I hope I can do it!! I do know that I won't have a big fat cheeseburger the day of training anymore...ooops! :) I also plan to go and check out some new running shoes this weekend that might help too.
Well that's all for now. Toodles.

A wonderful Sunday
We spent our vacation Sunday morning at the Children's museum in STL. The kids had a blast! They had alot of outdoor fun but it was starting to get a little warm and we weren't quite dressed to be getting all rugged and stuff but it was alot of fun anyway. The boys kept begging for more but we had to go inside to cool off. I think we will definetely take them back if we're in town again.

They had a huge outdoor metal type obstacle course of sorts. You could climb all around to all kinds of different tunnels, slides and different lookout points and even up to a suspended airplane.

Inside they had a tremendous slide. It was so much fun. Mike and I even enjoyed it ourselves. I could of just kept sliding down. It was about the equivalent of 2-3 flights of stairs high and you slid down really fast. The first time I let D go first and B and I followed. We were going so fast that I thought we were going to run into him so I kept trying to slow us down. The next time I let D get all the way down and B and I went full speed. It was great!! Mike even took a turn with B and enjoyed it alot.
The outside view of the slide.
Here comes D with B and I in the background at the top.
Then daddy and B!

We saw some of the flooding while driving around.
Then dinner at our old neighbors and great friends house!

The boys enjoyed jumping on the trampoline. Daddy even joined in and by the end of the night B was a pro at it.

It was pretty humid outside and D was definetely sweating after all the jumping.
The guys had their bonding time.
And so did us girls! Thanks to everyone for a wonderful dinner and the dessert was pure sin: it was some type of ice cream sandwich dessert pie. I don't know but it was scrumptious, certainly worth cheating on your diet for!!! We really miss hangin out with you guys!! Hope it's not too long before we see you again!!

The Zoo trip
We spent most of Saturday at the zoo. The zoo is wonderful and the boys really enjoyed it. They were really into seeing the animals this time. This bear decided to scratch his back on the post while we were watching, the boys were amazed.
The penguin house is very cool. Literally!! The boys were so excited to go in and see the penguins until they felt the extreme cold. I don't know the temp in there, but cold enough for all of the penguins. They are so amazing. They had several types of penguins, many of them like on the movie Happy Feet.
The boys got a souvenir too of course. B wanted a giant snake and D opted for the chomping monkey head. B loved the snake and still sleeps with it now. It was so cute to see him walking around at the zoo in 80-90 degree weather with the stuffed snake wrapped around his neck. My question though is....how did he know how to wear a snake?? D's monkey became very annoying as he was chomping everything around and even trying to chomp the snake and make B cry. But I guess thats brothers for you right?? Just wait till B is older and he'll be telling D that his snake will easily win over the monkey with one venomous bite...hee hee!!
B couldn't wait to see the giraffes. When I asked him what animal he wanted to see most he said giraffe. He wasn't quite happy until we finally found them. " my giraffe, my giraffe!!", it was precious.

Good thing B didn't want this snake!! Yikes, and glad i didn't find it in my garage! This boa was huge!!
The zoo here where we live has an exhibit where you can watch a polar bear swim around under water. The zoo up there had a hippo exhibit, very cool. Those things are so huge!! Amazing how they walk around on the ground under water!

The boys just couldn't wait to go see the dinosaur exhibit. I don't think it was quite what they had thought. These were electronic type moveable dinosaurs. They didn't walk or anything but just moved their heads and legs and made growling noises. Well the boys were scared. But, mean parents that we are we made them endure it (hey we paid extra for that!!) and even pose for pictures while B was screaming in horror. They'll get a kick out of these pics when they are a few years older!

By the end of the exhibit D realized not to be scared and even sat on a dinosaur for a photo op....happpy me! B of course still wanted no part of the dinosaurs.
We ended the evening at some friends house and enjoyed a wonderful homemade dinner with pasta, bread, salad and a wonderful cheesecake for dessert! The boys got to play with some "antique toys". They were Gary's when he was a boy and they were made out of metal, amazing how kids didn't really hurt themselves with these! But my boys were just so happy to have some trucks and tractors to play with while mommy and daddy did some visiting.

Well that's all for our Saturday in STL. More to come later, with yes more pics!
Good thing B didn't want this snake!! Yikes, and glad i didn't find it in my garage! This boa was huge!!
B finally gets a hair cut tomorrow. I love his curly locks but they are getting too long and starting to be kinda like a frizzy afro. So, tomorrow the locks will be gone! But he does look so adorable after a haircut. Tomorrow night we're planning a little get together with my bro and sis in law. I can't wait to see my neice. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen her. I'll be sure to get some updated pictures to share also. Well toodles for now.

Just a moment
I have just a moment tonight to share a little from our vacation. The weather was gorgeous when we arrived on the 4th! We headed to a nearby park to let the boys run out some much needed built up energy from the car ride. Even daddy got on the swings....go daddy!!

We then headed to Rhonda's for a 4th cookout and swim at the neighborhood pool. Her girls were so adorable. We were pregnant at the same time due only 2 weeks apart and now she has another little girl 1 yr younger. They are so adorable. The weather was so cool that we were the only ones at the pool and had it all to ourselves!! We enjoyed great food and then drove down the street only 5 minutes or so and got out and sat in the grass and watched the fireworks. D actually enjoyed them this time and even laid back on the blanket to watch and enjoy. B on the other hand didn't see probably one firework. He is still scared with the loud noises and just hugged me the whole time, of course I didn't mind the cuddles that's for sure from my little busy bee.

Cutie pie at 20 months old or so. The baby sis.

She is B's age but mostly played with D.

Boy how time flies fast!
She is B's age but mostly played with D.

TO THIS ALMOST 3 YRS LATER!!
Well I said I only had a moment and that was it. I'll be back soon to share some more. Happy Friday tomorrow to everyone!!
