We had a wonderful time at the Rocket & Space center!

Busy, busy and more busy

We had a wonderful weekend. B had a birthday party to go to on Sat. and then we saw the "Brahma bull" and took pics. That was too funny. Dev spent the day with daddy. The weather was nice and the boys got to play outside. D has been learning about space and the planets in school. He has been telling us all about it every night. Sunday we got up and drove to Huntsville for the day. We toured the Space & Rocket museum. The boys had a great time and loved seeing the rockets and space shuttle. We also watched Fly Me To the Moon in 3D. I have to say that it was pretty awesome. I think that was one of the best 3D movies that I have seen. At first B was scared with the bugs flying right AT him but then he adjusted. I will post pics later. We had a great day and were even home for dinner.
I am trying to get things together for both boys Valentine's parties on Friday. I will be out shopping tomorrow for goodies and game supplies. For D's class we will be playing some games and I'm going to set up an ice cream sundae station for the kids to make their own sundaes...yum yum!!
We also have some friends coming in town this weekend. I can't wait! The guys are going to be in charge of our Valentine dinner dessert....the girls will be cooking dinner. I'm also going to try to find a few things to make the dinner special......maybe champagne (bubbly grape juice for her, she's expecting) and maybe some candles or something...I also need to get a few things for the boys Valentine's gifts.
The weather here has been 60 and 70's...very nice. I hope the weather holds up this weekend so we can get outside again. I'd love to have a Valentine scavenger hunt for the boys!
I have been getting back to the gym...finally! I even got my mom to meet me up there last Friday! She did great, even though she thought I was trying to torture her at first with my interval training on the treadmill. GREAT job mom you did awesome!!
Countdown begins...only 5 weeks till our Disney cruise! Yippee! I can't wait!!

You never know...

what you might see driving down the road in Mississippi....hee hee. One of the car dealerships had this ox? maybe or bull I have no idea, anyway it was sitting outside of a car dealership. They must be desperate to get some customers and decided this might draw some attention. It did! We stoppped! :) But we didn't buy a car! This all the closer B would get at first, but then he did actually touch it's back..amazing!
Too funny!

A day on the hill

We went out to visit at Dad's and took the boys scooter with us. The boys enjoyed riding down the hill. I'm sure it seemed like a HUGE hill to them! Mike and I even went down too!

I love how D even has Mike's famous "lip tuck" going on in the pic...too funny!

This is a must try recipe from Amy's recipe section. They are called Ranch Sausage Stars. It is so easy to make and tastes wonderful. I made it with just the sausage and cheese and ranch for the boys and they loved it. I made it like the recipe says for us adults but also added chopped onion....delicious!!
Ranch Sausage Stars
1 lb. cooked and crumbled sausage
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups monterey jack cheese
1 cup ranch dressing
1 cup sliced black olives
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 pkg. wonton wrapperscooking spray
Preheat oven to 350. Brown sausage and blot dry with paper towel. In a bowl, combine with cheese, olives, ranch, and peppers. Mix well. Lightly grease a muffing tin. Press one wrapper into each cup so it form into a cup. Then spray them lightly. *This will help in the browning process. Bake 5 minutes until light golden brown. Remove from tins and place on cookie sheet. Repeat making about 4 dozen cups. Fill with mixture and cook for another 5 minutes or until mixture is bubbly.

Well back to some snacks while waiting for the Super Bowl to start. I am hoping for the Cardinals since we were in STL when Kurt Warner lead the Rams to Super Bowl victory!! Go Kurt! The weather is in the 60's outside too so the boys can get some outside time again today!!

The weekend in finally here

Yes, it's Friday!! For some reason it has seemed like a really long week!!Tonight they are having a Parent Appreciation dinner at D's school. I'm not sure if it's just dinner or if there is a presentation of some type...anyway we are planning on going.
We are going to search the house this weekend for more eBay stuff. Mike has been selling some stuff on there and doing pretty well. I think we have some stuff in the attic that might get us a few bucks.....
I am really considering the gymnastics thing again for the boys. I think I might take them in the morning to sign up. There is a class that is for 3-5 yr olds on Sat.'s and they can be in the same class, i.e. only one trip for mommy!!! :) Plus with the cold weather here, it will help them be able to release some weekend energy! We also are going to start trying to get to the Y once a week to swim. We only have two months until our cruise and I'd love for the boys to be more adjusted to the water so we can do some swimming on the ship or even at the beach! Two months...yikes!! I better get my booty back to the gym on the treadmill!! I did finally get my Garmin GPS watch that I ordered for a super price that was on back order for two weeks. My thoughts are to use it to help me trian for a 1/2 marathon. I had originally planned to already be in training but that hasn't happened.... maybe I can try it out on Sunday..it is supposed to be in the 60's or so they say!
Only two weeks till we have company again. One of my friends from STL and her husband are coming to visit. This will be their 3rd visit. They come every year the weekend of President's day. I am very excited....she is also expecting!! I can't wait to see her tiny baby pooch!! We were talking the other day and realized that they will be here Valentine's. I told her that maybe we can have a special Valentine's dinner at my house. I was thinking maybe me and her could cook the meal and the guys would be in charge of dessert. I think I will make rules to it though! No store bought dessert, it must be homemade....that will be interesting!!
We rented the Wii game Mario Cart this week to let D try it. He absolutely loves it!! It is very kid friendly and he has played it almost every night! We might try to get out this weekend to purchase it...we have a coupon for Best Buy, so let's hope they have it!! We also rented Journey to the Center of the Earth and Tyler Perry's The Family that Preys....I really enjoyed both movies alot! I didn't know if I would like Brendan Fraser's movie....he is usually in some goofy movies, but I did really enjoy it. I plan to put it on my iPod and let the boys watch it...I think they might really enjoy it if they can just keep interested long enough to get to the good stuff. Of course Tyler Perry's movies are all good. I don't know if I have watched one yet that I didnt' like. We also caught Daddy's Little Girls the other night on TV and that was a good movie too. It was sad in parts...but had a good message. I can't believe I have watched so many movies lately...I think this is more than I have watched in months!!! yeah for me!!
Well I hope everyone enjoys their Friday and the weekend even more!! Toodles.

My poor baby!

Not a good mommy day! My poor baby got bit on the face today!! I am not happy at all! Look at it!! Yikes...he has been bit at school before ,but A)not on the face and B)not this bad....they cleaned it well and I cleaned it again tonight... he seems to be just fine, but I still don't like it! ;o(

Snow day...sorta

We actually got some snow this morning. D's school closed...but I still had to work and Mike is out of town and the daycare was still open. So, unfortunately the boys went to daycare instead of playing in the snow. That's OK with me though, because I think it turned to slush pretty quickly and would of just been messy. I can't believe it is almost Feb!! This month has flown by!
I sure don't feel like cooking anything tonight even though I just bought a bunch of groceries! Daddy's gone.... I think we might just splurge on some fast food....the boys will be thrilled. But that is provided they get a good report from school today. Yesterday B got a "oh no"report at school. He knew he would have punishment for it (remembering from the last time) Both boys got bad reports one day and had to spend the evening in their rooms. As soon as I walked in the school to pick him up he started crying...I felt sooooo bad.....it was so sad. But at least he is learning consequences for his actions. He got in trouble for telling his teachers multiple times "NO!" He didn't get to watch any TV last night and he told me he will not get another "oh no" today. I hope not!
So glad you can comment now Kelli!!!!!
Toodles.

Thoughts?

OK, ignore the goofy smile and bad lighting...but thoughts anyone? Should I flip it out like in the previous post or under and have the lovingly called "mom bob?" Thoughts anyone....leave me a comment or email me. I'd love to hear some thoughts on this...I'm not sure..

They are predicting ice/snow tonight, so I'm not sure if we will have school or work tomorrow. I will def have to watch the news. But looking at the weather it seems like we will surely get some type of winter weather! Lucky for Mike he's headed to 70 degree weather! Hope he brings it back with him!

Time for some color

I have decided to maybe grow my hair back out, so it was time for a little change. I got some "chunky" color and a trim. I call it chunky since it is big streaks of color. I really like it alot, my hubby says he likes it but is still adjusting..

The pics don't really do it much justice but anyway. Back to cooking dinner and washing clothes, toodles!

Oh yeah, the boys are showing off their muscles!!

Big bro knowledge

We were driving the other day and B asked what that store was he saw on the side of the road. I told him it was Lowe's. Then D tells him" you don't want to go there, they don't have toys. All they have is wood and fans!"

I just thought that was so funny! Big bro's know it all!!

Lost now Found & Fire in the Hole!!

So I have scoured the house for two weeks now looking for my passport. We took the boys to get their's for our cruise in March and I haven't been able to find mine since! So I finally decided to go ahead and get a new one today since the cruise is approaching. When I came back from the post office, Mike was checking his office and of course found it!! I was so relieved, although I had already had the post office cancel the old and order a new. Oh well, mine was going to expire in August anyway. I am sad that the cute young picture of me will now be replaced with a current older and less cute version of me...;-(
Also forgot to post about the drama in my car the other day. Fire in the Hole!!!! It was freezing cold and I was leaving the neighborhood to hang with the girls. I turned the seat warmer on as usual. There was a burning type smell that I thought was someone's fireplace..then the smell kept getting stronger and started to not smell right at all! I was getting paranoid that the engine might be on fire or something so I turned the car around in the neighborhood and started back home. The smell got so strong I decided to stop the car and get out to check it out. Then I looked down and saw smoke coming up from the side of my seat that I was sitting on!! I jumped out of the car so fast I wasn't even sure if I had put it in park...luckily I had. I quickly reached in and turned the seat heater off. I was shaking like a leaf! The seat had practically caught on fire underneath and was burning a hole in the seat and then to my leg. Sure...my leg and booty were feeling warm, but hey they were supposed to the heater was on! I called Mike in panic and then drove home. The burning had stopped but the car smelled like burnt leather and electrical stuff! We called the dealer and they are obviously going to replace the seat. Mike found that there was some type of recall for that from before we owned the car...the dealer is covering everything! I didn't get burned thank goodness...although a small burn on my leg or something like emotional trauma might of gotten us alot of money!! hee hee. Just kidding. I'm just glad that I stopped to really check it out or I might have really gotten burned...pretty scary!! My leg did tingle for a little bit, kinda like when you touch the hot iron but that's it.

That's all I have for now....my note for the day......follow your instincts!! Toodles.

Ole!

I had a great weekend even though the temps were freezing!! Friday night I met the girls at our usual Mexican resturaunt and had yummy food and lots of Margarita's! OLE! I had too many....luckily Linda only lives 2 minutes from the place and we headed over there for awhile and 2 cups of coffee for me. It sobered me up but then I couldn't go to sleep when I got home!
Saturday I met up with the girls and hung out awhile and then headed back home to finish cooking dinner. The girls arrived later and we had a blast! Great food, drinks, lots of laughs, drinks, games, drinks and more laughs! It was so good to see everyone again after so long!

The boys are napping after our holiday outting today. We ran some errands, met Dad at the thrifty food store, visited the pet store for some window shopping, ate lunch at Chick Fil A and then spent two hours at the inflatables indoor play area. B had a great time. This was his first time there and as usual he was timid at first. Once I went with him on everything a time or two then he was a pro and loved it!!

Gotta love it

I brought home some boxes for the boys tonight. I brought a box home not too long ago, but silly me I only brought one. So this time I brought home two and made doors and a look out for them. The boys loved it!!! Yippee for Friday!! Freezing cold here though, I think the low tomorrow is 10 .!!! Way too cold!!
Hoping to get home from work tomorrow, throw a few recipes together ahead of time for Saturday dinner party and then head out to hang with my girlfriends that will be in town! Yeah! I'm so excited! Toodles.

Busy little bee

That's me!! This has been a busy week so far and will continue to be. The boys had a great time at Monster Trucks with daddy. I have a few pics to post later.
I have work projects, homeroom mom projects and a dinner party to work on this week....yikes! Also trying to put working out back into my rountine after my almost month long break!! whew!! I can definetely tell at the gym that I haven't been in awhile, but I'm building myself back up quickly!! Also having a great time reconnecting with old friends on facebook! I can't believe how many people are on there...it's so funny so see everyone all grown up with families!
Can't wait till Sat....having a dinner party with some of my friends that will be in town from STL. Yipee!! It will be so fun! I'm working on the menu (yum yum) and thinking we might even play some Wii or even Rock Band!
Well this is short, but just wanted to drop a little note of what I'm up to. Also it's really cold here...yuk! Supposed to be about 10 degrees on Friday morning I think......too cold for me!!
D has learned to tie his shoes....milestone....yippee!! He's doing great back at school after the long Christmas break!
B has a runny nose this week and is a little under the weather, hopefully he'll be better soon!

Not too much

Not much planned for this weekend. I am on call so I won't be going with the boys to see the Monster Trucks on Saturday. I am disappointed too. I would really like to be there. It will be B's first time seeing them live. We have taken D for about the past 2 yrs. A commercial came on this morning about it and B was soooooooo excited! I am trying to tell him not to be scared and that it will be very loud. He told me.." yeah, we have to wear ear plugs mommy" We are trying to prepare him but I know him and he will be fairly terrified at first, mainly from the noise. Mike is taking earplugs for the boys to wear so it won't be so loud. I think they are going to go early too and get to talk to the drivers and see the trucks up close. I hope he remembers to take some pics for me!! I think I might spend my evening alone starting on my wedding scrapbook. I have bought some supplies but just need to start on it. I've been thinking about starting a vacation book also with some pics from each vacation we take and scrap them.
Not too much going on otherwise... hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happenings

Here's our dress up pic from the wedding we went to. It was nice to get dressed up and have a night out!

Sunday we took the boys to Incredible Pizza. Kinda like a Dave N Busters or larger scale Chuck E Cheese. We took them about a year ago, and thought it was time to try again. B was scared to ride at first but then relaxed a little.

D jumped right on the smaller kid rides and had a blast!

Then we played a few games...

And of course we had to ride the go-carts. D rode with daddy the last time and B was too small to ride.

B really wanted to ride the go-carts and he was tall enough this time so we did. Mike and D were going to just watch us since they just rode so they could take our pic. Then the attendant let Mike and D ride again for free....so this is my pic! B enjoyed it but I think he was a little scared. I wish I could of gotten a picture of the look on his face. I also think he was a little scared since he didn't ask to ride again....:-)

D and I spent his last day of break together. We had a double visit to the dentist first. A week or so ago I noticed he had a dark spot in one of his molars. Then I noticed a small hole in his tooth. So today the dentist checked him out and said he had broken a piece of his molar off and food was getting stuck. He didn't really see any sign of decay just food caught in there. That was a relief to me! But we had to come back a few hours later so that he could fill the hole. They gave him a little numbing medicine too. D was a trooper and did great. I waited in the waiting room and then they called me back when they were about done. D didn't cry or anything....I was so proud of him!!! I loved the sticker they gave him to wear...it said " NY NOUTH NIS AFLEEP!"
We ran around and did a few errands and had lunch out with daddy. Then we found these awesome shoes on clearance. D loved them and I have to admit I thought they were pretty cool. I am relaxing a bit though as my conservative mom self....there was a point I thought I would never let my 5 yr old wear shoes with skulls on them.....hee hee. But these were just pretty cool! And what big feet! My goodness, it won't be long and his foot will be bigger than mine, maybe even next year!!

The boys are so into their Nascars! They each got one from Granny and then I bought them each another one....these cars are about all they have played with the last few days!
Well, back to the grind tomorrow. Both boys will be back to school after our Christmas break. I sure hope we can get out of the house on time! We put the boys to bed a little early in hopes they will get up easily...we'll see. Toodles for now.

Happy New Year 2009!!

Here is the boys having their New Year's toast toddler style....homemade strawberry banana milkshakes!!
I finally got my pics uploaded from our Mobile trip and Christmas and you can view them all here.
We had a wonderful New Year's eve playing Wii games until the ball dropped. Mike fell asleep though and mom and I woke him just in time for a champagne toast!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

The last day

It's the last day of 2008....who can believe it!! The year has went by so fast!! Thanks to mom for watching the boys last weekend so that we could go to a wedding. It was nice to play dress up, go to a wedding and drink free wine all night. But we are wimpy and old and came straight home after and went to bed....we still had a great time though!! I'll post our dress up pic probably tonight when I get the rest of my pics uploaded.
I'm headed to Best Buy after work for a new Wii game and then home for some NYE fun. I might even make special milkshakes for the boys for a toast to the new year...toddler style!! ;O)
I'm not sure if us adults will make it up to midnight or not..... I guess depending on how much game play that we are in to. We will be soaking our black eyed peas also to cook tomorrow for good luck. We haven't done that in several years so I'm actually looking forward to my hubby's great homemade beans!! I also have champagne for our toast tonight if we make it till midnight, if not I figure we can at least toast before we go to bed!
The boys have been so good the last two weeks. D has been on his first official school break and B has stayed home with us too!! Although, D keeps asking if he has school everyday. He hasn't realized the concept that he is out on Christmas break! It has been fun the last two weeks, but definetely a different world than I'm used to....let's just say, less house cleaning and errands and more playtime :o) But I'm not complaining....I could get used to this!! Thanks also to Papa and Dee for watching the boys today while mommy and daddy are working. D told B that he was going to get to "eat with the old people today, and that he had never done that!" D looks forward to going to breakfast with my dad everytime he keeps him, he calls it the "old people place" it's too cute!! So B got to eat with the old people too today!
I hope to get the rest of my Christmas pics posted soon. I left my memory card at work for several days while I was off so I couldn't finish uploading the pics.
I also have only one day left to pig out! I have been on a total break of exercise and healthy eating for the past week or two! It has been sooooo good and I've eaten so many yummy, unhealthy snacks!! But.....Friday I will be back on track! At least my first fitness test on the Wii fit said I was 3 yrs younger, yipee!! The countdown begins for our Disney cruise in March and I would love to be able to wear some Daisy dukes....hee hee....totally kidding!! But some nice shorts and maybe even a..............bathing suit.........yikes!! would be nice. We'll see!!
Well that's all for now, I won't be back probably till next year!!!
Hope everyone has a very safe, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!
