I still have birthday pics on my camera to share. But, I had these on my phone and can post them from work. So here it goes. I took the boys to the fair last Sunday. They had a blast! We got there when it opened and stayed for quite awhile before it started getting too crowded for me and the two boys. D got on the swings and it was funny. After the ride started I could see him smiling as it went around. But then as it got faster and higher his expression changed! I felt so bad for him! I could see his face turning red and tears in his eyes, but there wasn't anything I could do from the ground. But then, as the ride continued his tears turned to smiles again and he started to enjoy it...whew...I felt much better. He later wanted to ride it again, but the line was too long by then.
**By the way, if you click on the swing picture it will get larger and you can see D on the left side behind the girl in the pink shirt. Then click your back button to come back to the blog.
The boys liked the catepillar roller coaster. I rode it with them the first time and then they rode it again by themselves.
Can't figure out how to move this pic without messing things up, so here is a pic back at home of the boys riding in the driveway. They do this over and over and over. Thank goodness for our long driveway.
Ok, back to the fair. Another thing they loved was the slide. They rode this many many times.
I don't have any pics, but we also rode a slide that was about 4x's higher than this! No joking. The boys weren't tall enough to ride alone, so I took turns taking them down one at a time while the other waited at the bottom. Whew...got my workout in on for those 4 trips up the giant slope to get to the top, but it was alot of fun. The boys really enjoyed the fair. We got to ride alot of rides before the lines got too long, watched a live bear show, ate a funnel cake, and played some of the expensive games for cheap toys. Of course, this is what the fair is all about right? We had a great time and the weather was great!
The boys are playing mechanic and working on the big wheel.
We did need to move the seat back a little, so they took turns taking the screws out. Such a simple thing, but they truly enjoyed doing it!
B did excellent in his soccer game last night. Their team lost by about 10-0 but he did great trying to stop the other teams from scoring. He actually blocked alot of goals believe it or not by the score. He is truly the fastest on his team and can run like lightning, wow! Dev did good also at his game. His games have been close games. It is amazing how different the game is with a two year older group of kids. We only have about 3 weeks left of soccer games. It was pretty cold out there last night, it was 51 but it sure felt colder than that.
Getting alot of my decorations and final things worked out for the girls Halloween party this weekend. Yippee! I am so excited about it!
Thursday Bry's class is taking a trip to the pumpkin patch. I took off work to go with him. I think the weather is going to be great. It will be so much fun, I am glad I was able to get off work to go with him.
Made a wonderful apple pie this weekend! It was fantabulous!! It is so easy and tastes wonderful! You can see a pic of it
here. Thanks Picky Palate. You gotta try it!
The recipe....Chocolate and Caramel Apple Pie Galette
3 tbsp butter
2 apples of choice peeled and diced
3 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 roll pillsbury pie dough
5 rolo chocolate caramel candies, unwrapped and quartered
Preheat oven to 350. Place butter into medium saucepan over medium heat. When melted add diced apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until softened. Unroll pie dough onto cookie sheet and pour cooked apples in center of dough leaving a 1 1/2 inch border around edges. Top with quartered Rolo's then take edges and fold up to create a pleated edge. The middle of the pie will be open. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until pie edges are golden brown. Remove and let cool completely. Then ENJOY!!
