Four P's and a "V"

B had a great day at school! He pee peed in the potty 3 x's at school and once before bath time! WoW!! We are so ExCiTeD!!! Maybe he's getting closer and closer. He pretty much will go when he wants and other times just resort to the safety of the diaper. Still no more #2's in the potty since our great party, but time will come soon enough, i hope!
Had the trusty adjustment yesterday for my good ole' braces. Yes my teeth are tender but at least it's not as bad as the first time. I was expecting a week of total pain, but this is just some soreness so lucky me....i guess.
Went to my first meeting for my fall goal. I'm going to run in a 5K(3.1 miles). There is a women's only 5K they hold yearly here and a bunch of girls from work are doing it so I decided to join in. Most of them are walking but my goal is to run the whole thing. They had a intro meeting the other night and will hold official training nights every Monday for 10 weeks. You obviously are to train on your own also throughout the week. My sis in law is going to do it with me too, it should be fun and hopefully I can achieve my goal. I am going to add a small section to my sidebar to track my training progress. I am really excited about this and hopefully the extra training help, all the women(about 600 at the first meeting), and the motivation and accountability will help alot. D is already excited about standing on the sidelines and cheering me on. He keeps asking me if I'm going to win....my answer....I will try my best and win for myself. That's the right answer right?? It made him smile so that was good with me.
"V" is for vacation. Yes we just had a short one, but why not have another one??!! One more day and we head to St. Louis for the holiday weekend. We are really excited. They have a really spectacular fireworks show downtome but the boys aren't ready for that yet. They were too scared at just the fireworks show at the Castle in Disneyland so I know they would be scared of these for sure. Maybe next year for the big fireworks. We get to visit with lots of our friends we haven't seen in years and visit some tourist spots around the city for the boys too. They have a wonderful zoo and it's FREE!! The zoo is great! We also plan to visit the Children's museum or the Science Center. Several of our friends haven't seen B at all except for pics. We moved from there when D had just turned 1 ! I'm looking forward to some great hospitatlity each night also at friends houses that have offered to cook for us. We are staying at a hotel with a pool so the boys will get to swim also. Should be alot of fun. We are trying to take advantage of our long weekends this summer since D will be starting real school in the fall. I can't believe it's almost here!
Anyway, that's all i have for now. I need to go watch SYTUCD and start to pack for our trip. Toodles.

Our tag along vacation

These pics uploaded a little out of order, but I'm ready to relax so this is how you get them..sorry.
We saw this huge rainbow on our way back home.

This was the play area at Blu Rabbit.

Like father, like sons!

Boys, boys everywhere! We had two and they have three.

D really liked being eaten by the deflating air mattress.
Some beach pics...hope you can get there soon Susan!

Completely sun tired!
I little hat trick on the trip down there.

Finally a little update on our little vacation while daddy was working. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at his parents when we arrived. My MIL is such a great cook! The boys couldn't wait to get there and have some chicken salad! We did some catching up and then watched Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. We had already seen it and his parents hadn't. I thought it was a pretty good movie. I usually don't care much for Monique, she's pretty obnoxious but I thought she played a perfect part in the movie, and believable...hee hee.
The next day the boys and I were supposed to hang out with some friends of our and their boys. Lisa was under the weather and i didn't think we'd be going over so we packed our bags and headed to the beach. The boys were very excited to go to the beach. We got there and finally settled on our large sheet near the water. The boys have only been to the beach maybe twice for D and once for B. They were pretty apprehensive about the water. I didn't expect them to jump in or anything but they wouldn't even really get their feet wet. Oh well, we filled buckets with sand and shells and walked along the water. A girl nearby caught a jellyfish about the size of a grapefruit. She had it in a bucket and showed it to the boys. She then caught a baby seahorse. Wow, I don't know how she caught it but it was pretty cool. The boys wanted to eat their chips so we headed back to the sheet. Silly mommy, didn't bring not even one wet wipe to the beach. Yes I had plenty in the car, but the seemingly 5 mile walk back to the car was definetly out of the question. I caught some water in their bucket and sorta washed their hands enough to get the sand off. It worked well enough, but note to self to not forget the wet wipes next time!! About an hour after arriving at the beach B was ready to go. I think he was just getting hot, tired, hungry and little irritated and the constant sand on his hands. So we packed it all up to head back to the car. He refused to walk, so that made it extremely fun.........NOT!!!!! Remember the seemingly 5 mile walk. Well I'm by myself and have D walking slowly behind while I'm toting B about 30lbs. or so and my overstuffed too small of a beach bag with all the towels and toys and ect. Finally we made it back to the car, thank goodness!! We really had a good time, but it would of been a little bit easier with another set of hands, that's for sure! We stopped to get lunch for the car ride back and B was so tired he didn't want to even eat and fell asleep within 5 minutes. D fell asleep too as I drove through a torrential rainstorm lightning and all only about 10 minutes from the beach. Typical gulf coast!! Then about 30 minutes I was in dry land and never saw another drop of rain.
We headed back to my inlaws to rinse off. Meanwhile Lisa called and was feeling much better. Her boys were begging for my boys to come over so we did. They had lots of fun playing. I couldn't believe how big her youngest was. Last we saw him he was only about 4 months old and now he's 14 months old. WOW!! We grilled out and let the boys run all over the back yard to wear themselves out more before we headed back for bed. Great time!!
Our last day we headed back to Lisa's house. We drove through an isolated torrential rainstorm again! When we got to her house it was bone dry and never rained. Only 10 minutes from the storm! The boys played and played. We left around lunch time and headed to a place called Blu Rabbit. Kinda like a Chuck E Cheese. The boys had a good time, but boy were there some really rambunctious(sp?) awnry kids running around. I couldn't believe it. I almost felt like we were at the place where all the parents of out of control kids took them to let them run wild...seriously. B got knocked down twice and didn't want to play anymore. Blame him? Nonetheless they got good and tired for the ride home and fell asleep minutes after we hit the road to head home.
We had a great trip, but it was short. I wish we would of had more time to spend with the family and to see others but I knew it would be short. We'll have to head back down soon for a longer weekend.
I've spent the weekend working on some house projects. Moving furniture around, hanging some new curtains(thanks mom!) and ordering more, cleaning out Mike's office(he doesn't know it yet and prob won't be happy). He hates it when I move all his stuff around, but I'm thinking of moving some(make that all) of my craft stuff into his office and out of the dining room. I really want to get a new casual dining room table and therefore i need to permanently move all my crafts so we can actually use the table. I don't know how he'll like the idea but we'll see.
We'll that's all for now, time to go get the boys in bed and relax for the evening. I think I'll have a glass of wine too!! I'll end this with some pics from the trip. Good night.

Oh yeah, don't you just love the bobble head trophy (as D says his Piston Cup) from his end of season tball party. Too cute!

We did a little artwork on Sat. using anything I could find that they could glue down. They enjoyed eating the pretzels more than using them for art. Smart boys.

Good night.

Quickness

We had a really great time on our ride along with daddy vacation. Yes we're back and yuk! Back into the work and school grind. But luckily tomorrow is already Friday!! I have lots of pics and some stories to share from our trip of course. But, I am posting this quickly tonight. D had his last tball game of the season and we didn't get home till 830pm. We put the boys in bed and I'm writing this quick post. I have several things to do before I head to bed.

I do have to post just a few adorable (in my unbiased mommy opinion of course) pics of my boys taken at school a few weeks ago. I absolutely had to buy the cowboy pic of B because I have the same pic of D from two years ago. I definetely plan to hang them side by side on the wall. I also love the more grown up (weep weep) pic of B too. I am so happy that B cooperated in the pics. He usually doesn't want anyone to take his pic and will not play along, but maybe the dress up helped him play along, I'm so happy! My big boy D is just debonair is his suit and hat! Yes, grandparents you'll be getting your own pics in the mail soon, better find another spot on the wall! (hee hee)
Here is D's cowboy pic from 2 yrs. ago. Sorry for the not so great photo of a photo but this pic is actually like 10 x 13 or something and won't fit on my scanner. But you get the idea!
My baby is looking all grown up!

Pure sweetness!

Well tomorrow night in the tball pizza party. So it probably won't be till Sat or so for the vacation update and pics so stay tuned! I definetely love the beach and must get the boys there alot more!! They were a little apprehensive about it and wouldn't even get their feet wet in the water. That's OK, hopefully we'll get them there alot more and they'll be surfer dudes in no time! Toodles for tonight!

Lesson for Mimi

This am the boys were eating cereal for breakfast. B wanted D to share his with him. Well D promptly informed him(and Mimi) that the cereal had " 720 sugars and that was too much and he can't have any." It was hysterical, guess D really does listen to what we say even when we don't think he does. Too funny.
Not sure what we're doing today yet. The friends me and the boys were going to hang out with are a little under the weather. She's gonna call and let me know this morning how she's feeling. Otherwise, me and the boys will probably head out to the beach while daddy's working....poor daddy....hee hee!

Photo fun

I got out the camera this am and decided to take a few fun pics of the boys.
So... feet are only allowed on the couch when mommy is taking fun pictures!

The only pics of me and the boys are usually the ones I take myself. It was time for another one. Other picture taking mommys out there know what I'm talking about!

PEEK A BOO I SEE YOU!!!!!!!
If you ask B how old he is...this is how he tells you that he's two. Too cute!
Hey Mimi and Gran J, remember the pillows you sent the boys? Checked on D today during his nap and found this, not quite under the head like a pillow but close enough!

Here are a few pics from our hibachi night a few weeks ago. I forgot my camera so these were taken with the phone. The boys loved using their chopsticks, even if it meant when they got the rice that it was only one grain at a time from chopsticks to mouth!

B got scared when the chef started tapping all the utensils around on the grill. We warned him about the big fire, but the guy decided not to do it so he wouldn't scare B. We were a little disappointed, but then the table behind us had the big flame of fire and B starting crying. I guess it was best that it didn't happen at our table. Maybe next time.
Found this pic on the phone too so i just had to include it. It's from quite awhile ago as you can see by how little the boys are. This is one of my favorite pics. I was actually taking it of D and got daddy and B in the background. I love how they both have the same exact expression and crinkled brow!! Click on the pic to see the true similarity. Kinda scary!!
Today has been a nice relaxing Saturday. We might head to the pool today after nap time. Not quite sure, but the weather would be perfect! I'm not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow yet except for some packing. Mike has some business to do down in Mobile. So me and boys are going to join him and enjoy some family and friend time. We hope to also get to the beach while we're there. It is a short trip but I'm going to try to squeeze in as much as possible! The boys are very excited to see Mimi and Gran J and also get to play with some of their friends. We'll be renting some movies tonight to burn to my ipod for the trip. I always like to try to get some new movies for the car ride for the boys. I can't imagine how my parents managed on vacations and long car rides with me and my sis arguing and fighting the entire trip instead of relaxing and watching movies!!! Hee hee--thank goodness for portable DVD players!!!!!!!!!
Toodles for now.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day (yesterday!). I bought these premade layouts and added my own pics for a father's day gift for the boys to give to daddy. I put them in 12x12 frames and now I just have to decided where I want to hang them.

Went to Dad's to visit while Mike was off racing. The boys had a good time and Bry even got a potty present from him too!! He was very excited.

Also been working on B's book. Only two more months left to scrap until his one year birthday pics. I'm almost done!!Here's one of the layouts I did yesterday.
Also, I never was able to get the video to upload that I did of B singing over the baby monitor at naptime. But, I did get him to sing it for me while sitting on the potty! Here it is:

Also here's the cheescake recipe that I made a few weeks ago:

Creamy Cheesecake

18 graham cracker boards finely crushed (about 2 3/4 cups)

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup sugar

1 pkg (8oz) cream cheese softened

2 cups milk

1 pkg (3.4 oz) instant lemon pudding

In large bowl mix together graham cracker crumbs, butter and sugar. Spray nonstick 8x8 in. baking pan with cooking spray. Press 1/2 of graham crackers mix into bottom of pan. Refrig for 1 hr.

Place cream cheese in large bowl. Blend 1/2 cup of milk with hand mixer on medium speed. Add the remaining 1 1/2 cup milk and the instant pudding. Mix for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Take pan out of refrig and pour the pudding mix over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the top of pudding. Refrig for at least 3 hours until set and completely chilled. Cut and serve.

Ceelllleeebrate good times c'mon

That's right it's time for celebration. B did the big #2 in the potty this morning!!!! YEEEAAAHHH!! It was a total shocker. We were eating our breakfast thinking the boys were playing and watching tv in the den then B walks out of the bathroom. He announces that he poop pooed in the potty!! We were in shock and went running in.....yes he did it!!!! We couldn't believe it!! We jumped and yelled all around the house in celebration. Then we got dressed and headed to the store for some party supplies. That's right....it was time for a poo poo party. And that's what we had! Main course was a ice cream sandwich type dessert, we did the same with D and he started calling them poo poo cakes......so 2nd time around we still have poo poo cakes! Mom happened over by our suprise and even brought a special Hot Wheels potty car, it was too hysterical! Perfect for the occasion!! Thanks Granny!
We were going to have a Father's day lunch today but after the poo poo party I noticed B felt warm. Checked him and he had a temp (not sure why) and then about 10 minutes later I got called to go into work(i'm on call this weekend).Bummer! Well I guess it all worked out for the best. We'll just have to reschedule (tomorrow Mike is going RC racing for his Father's day outing) so we'll just pick another time. Maybe me and the boys will head down to Dad's tomorrow to celebrate if B seems to be feeling OK. We'll see though, he was kinda cranky this evening.

Here are a few pics from D's last game. He did pretty good! Daddy and B kept busy by playing with the football.

Great kick B!!!

Here's one of D's latest pics he made at school! I'm one proud mommy!

Look Grandparents!!!! Look who can write their name pretty good I must say!! Pre K here he comes! hee hee

That's all for now. Toodles.
