Our little Mini

Our trip started with a short visit with our friends the Howards. The boys really enjoy playing with their kids and another friend even stopped by before we left.

We headed to the beach on Sat. and stayed the night. This was our view from our hotel room. Not too bad! The boys really enjoyed the beach. They were both scared of the waves, but enjoyed digging in the sand. We even went back down after dinner and the boys and I sat and dug in the sand till almost 8:30! The boys were having a great time especially since it was dark! The weather was so beautiful!!
Scared boy #1.

Scared boy #2!

I like this pic! Funny how both little boys are walking almost the same and their arms are out at almost the same angle...wierd!
We spent Sunday at the Naval Museum. What a really cool place! The boys loved it!! It took us a little coaxing to finally get B to sit in the planes, but once he did he was hooked! We had a great time meeting up with some friends from way....back! Wow, how time flies!!

We really need to get the boys to a Blue Angels show!!

Double team!!

I was able to snap a quick pics of the boys and Gran J right before we left! It was such a short visit, but we really enjoyed ourselves!
Well it's a busy week. I spent part of today putting mulch in the flower beds. Then shopping for my Luau cookout this Saturday. I have rented a waterslide also, I sure hope the rain stays away!! I'm also getting ready for my SPA party this Friday. More about this to come later, let's just say FUN, and RELAXATION!
Well just wanted to post a few pics from our mini vacation and update just a little. Gotta go and get things ready for tomorrow, back to work! yuk! Toodles!

FUN

Headed out the door for a long weekend vacation. Headed to the beach, also visiting family and a few friends. Going to take the boys to see some cool airplanes too! Have a great weekend everyone!
OH YEAH! D got his cast off! He was sent home in a walking boot but with instructions to wean off of it. He is already walking around pretty good without the boot! He isn't complaining of any pain, I think he just needs to build the confidence back up that his foot is OK now. Bringing the boot along with us though, just in case!
Toodles.

It's done

The wallet was delivered! I met up with the wallet's owner to return it today. She was happy and gave me $50! I tried to give it back but she insisted I keep it. What a nice suprise. I decided to just give it to mom for her birthday today! She was with me when we found it, it was actually in her bathroom stall and then I did the leg work to contact the lady and take it to her. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! with a $50 bonus!!
Well only 1 more day till we hopefully get D's cast off! I am hoping so! We are planning on heading down to Mobile this weekend to visit family, friends, the beach and take the kids to the Naval museum for the first time! Hopefully he won't be a walking boot either but we will just have to see.
B is soooooo strong and flexible! He can hold a split position in mid air like the male gymnast's do! It is amazing! I am going to get a pic of it tomorrow to show you, wow!! Guess he gets the flexibility from me!
The weather has been so wonderful here! Unusally cool for the mid of July and I'm not complaining at all!! Happy mid week tomorrow to everyone!

What a day

So today was a pretty normal day. I had a great lunch with my friend and then did errands and just stuff I needed to do. My mom and I headed to our training for the women's 5K and we stopped for a bathroom break near the training site. As we were in the bathroom my mom says "there's a wallet in here" I'm like you're kidding! So we decided not to turn it in and contact the lady ourselves. The wallet seemed in tact and we wanted to make sure she received it that way. So after we got home from training we were able to contact her. She lives about 2 hours from here and was passing through going to a conference. She was thrilled to know that I had found her wallet and that she will come to meet me tomorrow to get it. Her wallet had all the usual stuff, and lots of it. Cash, many credit cards, gift cards, ssn card and alot of other important information. I am so happy that we found it for her and can make sure that it gets back to her in one piece with everything still in it! I lost my wallet one time, actually left it at Sam's and I was a nervous wreck until they called and told me that they had it, and that it was ALL there! whew! So I know the relief she had to have felt! What a beautiful day!

Kitchen time

Oh yeah!!Decided to have a baking night and I started with this cake mix. Decided to make the cake cookies like on Amy's blog, except I decided to try the funfetti. Of course I had my favorite two baker's helpers to help me!

The cookies tasted wonderful!! I decided to ice a few with sprinkles also! I was a super wonderful mommy and let the boys have one of each kind! The little cookie monsters gobbled them right up!
Then I decided to go ahead and try to make some cheesecake pops! A version of the cake pops I tried that I saw on Bakerella's site. Of course now looking back at the link, I should of rolled my cheesecake pops in the graham cracker crumbs to make them easier to shape, but oh well.
Store bought cheesecake, I definetely did not make this!
Roll them into balls and chill, then dip in the melted chocolate.VOILA!

I thought I would dip one in sprinkles and the other topped with toffe bits just for fun.

DELICIOSO!! NEED I SAY MORE!

D wanted me to take a pic tonight of his cast so when he goes back to school in a few weeks he can show all his friends...funny!
Here is our lone cucumber that didn't quite make it. It became slightly deformed. I am not quite sure what happened. Hubby seems to think the heat of the patio cooked it. The vines were in a small box and were growing over the box and along the patio, so the heat might of cooked it, who knows. I was not going to taste this one!
Well that's about all, time to go finish taste testing a cheesecake pop and watch SYTYCD before I go to bed.Toodles.

Totally forgot!

Several months ago the boys and I planted wild flower seeds. Or so I thought! For weeks these really tall green stems kept growing but NO flowers! I was getting really upset and thought I got a batch of duds!! It looked really weird infront of my small, low to the ground flowers behind them. Until......a few buds started to develop. And then...whoo hoo!! SUNFLOWERS!! Oh, I guess that's what I planted instead of wild flowers :-) The look pretty cool now and more are about ready to bloom. They are as tall as B! I will have to get a pic of the boys in front of them. They really are pretty at the corner of our street!

B did excellent at TKD tonight! It's time to get another video and pics of him in action! You wouldn't hardly notice that he's the only 3 yr old in there, except for his height!! D is still hobbling along on his cast, but very very well. I have even seen him running in it!! He just loves to run! I have signed him up for a kids run in the fall. I think he will really enjoy it! He will be in the 6 and 7 yr old group and run a 1/2 mile. They will have a few training days before the race. It should be alot of fun. I signed B up too, for the 5 and under race of 100 yds. I thought he would prob like it too, since big brother is doing it.
Getting ready to start training for the women's 5K again. I need it too! I have been such the slacker! Mom wants to do it too, so I'm going to try to keep her motivated also. It should be alot of fun. I haven't decided if I will actually run it though, or just keep pace with her to help her finish, we'll see.
Oh well, back to work tomorrow! Yuk!! My 4 days weekends go by way too fast! I can't imagine now only have 2 days off instead of 4!! I'm spoiled I know....but it still goes by way too fast with too much to get done!
Headed to prepare for tomorrow. Winging it myself this week, another bummer! I will be sooooooo ready for Friday!! Toodles.

A little dino fun

The boys weren't afraid of the python skeleton on the wall. I would of loved to bring home the huge rock of Amethyst also!

A yummy milkshake to share made a great end to the day!
The boys and granny really enjoyed the Imax movie Under the Sea. D was telling daddy this morning about all the creatures he saw on the movie. He remembered alot of the names, I was really impressed. I also enjoyed seeing all of the under sea creatures that you don't even know exist!
Pretty humid outside today, we tried to play outside, but the boys got too hot quickly and wanted to come inside. If only D didn't have the cast, it would of been great to go to the pool. Only two weeks and hopefully we will be back at the pool before school starts.
Off to finish some laundry and watch Toy Story with my baby B.
Toodles.

Great stuff

If you are looking for some recipes then you must check out Amy's blog! She has fabulous food friday (FFF) every friday and posts some great recipes! I have tried several of her recipes and they are great!! A recent fav is the Funeral Potatoes. I have made these for two different occasions and everyone raved about them! They are so easy and taste so wonderful!!
I think I might have to make her blueberry pancakes this weekend since I have alot of blueberries that D brought home from picking!!
Looking forward to hanging out with more family tonight that is in town. Another one of Mike's cousins and their kids. I can't believe how much they have grown up! Scary! I don't like to think of my own kids getting that grown! :-(
Other than that, not much else here. Still hoping to get the boys to the dinosaur exhibit since we can't go swimming.
Toodles.

Hop along

We are making it here. D is adjusting well to his new cast. He seems to be getting around better every day. Unfortunately every Thursday is water day at school and he won't be able to play tomorrow :-(
Enjoyed my first SPA experience of my very own last night! It went very well as I practiced being the presenter instead of the hostess. I think I am really going to enjoy helping women relax, renew and rejuvenate themselves!! Now to get some more SPA's booked and I will be having more fun!
Flashing back to the 4th weekend. We had a great time! We enjoyed having family in town that we haven't seen in a long time. The boys also enjoyed meeting more of their family! We enjoyed some family fun and food at our house on Friday and then we went out to Dad's for a great dinner and fireworks on the 4th. He bought a pool for the boys to enjoy and D did his best even with just his one foot! We bought our own fireworks for the first time since we have had our boys. It was fun, but truthfully a little scary watching Mike light them and not really sure what was going to happen...
My sweet niece loved playing in the slip n slide!
Not sure how I did it...but what an action shot!!

Sweet niece and her daddy.
This was when D had just hurt his foot!
It was time for a water fight!

I decided to let the boys go craft crazy on Sunday while Mike took our visitors around town for some touring. The boys got a little carried away but I know they had a lot of fun making a mess!

It was hard to go back to work today after having 5 days off!! But the good thing is that I only have two more days to go this week!! I think we might take the boys to see the new Dinosaur exhibit at the museum this weekend. Good thing we still have the strollers! D will get the ride along for the trip..:-)

Our cherry tomato plants are on overload production! We have a whole bowl full and probably that many left still on the bush! I think I might take some into work tomorrow. Our one little cucumber isn't doing too well. Our bell pepper plant has given us 3 so far and it is starting to flower again, so we should get some more. The boys love eating the fresh bell peppers!

Well time to get ready for another day tomorrow. Toodles.

Poor guy

Well the weekend went on and D never would put any weight on his foot. We headed to ortho Dr. this am. He didn't see anything obvious on xray but thinks he might have a hairline fracture since it's still swollen and he won't do anything with it. Sometimes the xrays are hard to tell at this young age. So he suggested we put a cast and give his foot time to heal. We will go back in two weeks for another xray. Meanwhile this changes things quite a bit around here. No more basketball and I will have to reschedule the swim lessons. Poor thing! He did pick a very cool color though! B had some jealousy though and started telling me that his foot hurt....I guess we will have to treat him extra special since he doesn't have the cast :-)
That's all for now.

not so good

It's a not so good start to the holiday weekend. All was going well yesterday. Our company arrived and we toured the city with them. Then we were we having a great family cookout and D twisted his foot. He kept crying and wouldn't stop so we took him to the urgent care. They couldn't decide if he had a fracture or not. They compared to the other foot and still couldn't decide. So now they are telling us for him to wear a special shoe and treat it like a fracture until monday when we can see an orthopedic. I'm not thrilled at all! He stills says it hurts today and doing very little with the foot. I am wondering if it's a bad sprain, since they really couldn't find an obvious fracture. We will see how he does the rest of today and the weekend. So anyway, Mike is off with our company headed to the casinos and I'm home with the boys. I am sure hoping his foot starts to feel better! He is starting to move it around a little more, so I"m hoping!!!!
Headed to Dad's tonight for dinner and fireworks. He bought a pool for the boys to play, so I hope his foot feels better enough to swim. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th!! Toodles.

yes

Yes i'm still alive. It's just been a busy week. My party in STL was so awesome and I'll have some pics to share soon. The week has been busy around here and enjoying the summer. Had the boys up at the neighbors pool till 930pm last night! Yikes...they sure didn't want to get up today. We have some company coming in town tonight.
Headed out the door to work now, but just wanted to check in. Hope to be back soon with pics and stuff to share. Have a great day and 4th weekend!!

Nice little trip

D got to go on a fieldtrip to a blueberry patch today. Granny went along since I had to work. She did a great job of getting me some pics, but forgot to get one of her and him...next time Granny :-)

Both boys enjoyed eating them on the way home from school today, during dinner, and even after dinner! I do have to say that they tasted alot better than the ones we have bought at the store. I was under the impression the boys didn't like them, at least store bought ones. But they really loved these fresh picked!! Yum!!
Getting ready to watch Tivo'd SYTYCD and then it's time to start my packing for my girls cookie party this weekend!! yipee! Only 1 more day and I'm headed out of town. I told the boys that mommy was going out of town and they just laughed. Then B said to me kinda laughing " but you're not a daddy!" it was cute. I guess they figure only daddy's go out of town. :0)
The boys are having waterdays at the daycare weekly now and they are so excited. Today B had his day and he could bring a spray bottle too. Tomorrow is D's water day, lots of fun.
B is doing excellent in his TKD and I dound out the next youngest in the class with him is one year older than him! Way to go B!!! Still thinking about the gymnastics for him too, since he's totally flexible like gumby!!
D has basketball practice tomorrow and then a game on Sat. I'm sad I will miss his game but I think his Aunt Jen might come and watch.
I am exploring a new business venture also. Hmmm...we'll see. I will have more details to come at a later date.
Off to watch TV, do some snacking...ummm.. I mean packing...hee hee and then nighty nite!
