Enjoyable

We had a really enjoyable weekend visiting friends and family in Mobile. We went to a cookout with my great friend at her parents house. I took these adorable cheeseburger cookies! They were a hit and so easy to make!!

The boys loved swimming in the pool. They did so great!!

Dev even jumped in!

Also had a great time seeing cousin Alexis graduate from HS. It was a great ceremony. Here are a few treats I made for her party afterwards. Some cake truffles and some graduation hats you can see in the background.

This was what I started with and then added a yellow skittle for the button on top of the hat.

I also made a giant truffle and put a hat on it. It turned out so cute!

We had a great time on our short/long weekend!   :-)  The boys start to summer camp this week. They weren't too happy to go this morning. They just wanted to stay home. But I know they will have fun once they get there.
Well that's a little update from our weekend.

My version and last day.

My boys on their last day of preK and 1st grade!

Honorary Phineas and Ferb dinner to start summer vacation with grilled cheese and vegetable soup.

Me and my baby boy watching the dark clouds.

It was his idea to take a pic of him giving me kisses! I have to savor this moment because last night he told me when he goes into 1st grade he only wants hugs and no more kisses. LOL. I guess it won't be long that I have to steal them.

Cloud watching.

Just a short post. Off to hang with the family now. toodles.

good and bad

ahhhh...First let me start with the fun part. Yet another creation from my new website. The boys loved their Owl lunch on Sunday. I have so much fun seeing their reactions to the food creations!!

Now to the not so fun party. I have to let off a little steam here so be prepared. Actually I have already let off alot of steam so this probably won't be too bad. But I do want to share this story.

The kids last day of school is tomorrow. Every year the kids are given free fun day themed shirts to wear on the last day of school.  A child draws the design, someone votes on it (not sure who) and then colors are chosen for each class. here's my problem: This is Bry's shirt for tomorrow. A hot pink one!! That is not cool! Plus it is known that every year there are complaints about pink shirts...so WHY HAVE PINK SHIRTS?!! I will find them a different color and work it out, I know I could do it. Really....it wouldn't be that hard, i would figure it out, especially if this was a problem every year!!
Secondly....notice the picture on the shirt for the preK through 4th graders......a very frilly girl, a bow in her hair, big eyelashes, flying her kite with fluffy butterflies flying and a cute tree. WHAT?!! HOW COULD THIS BE PICKED FOR GIRLS AND BOYS TO WEAR!!! SERIOUSLY??? Whoever chose this design for all students is not right!! My boys don't like it at all and to top it off Bry's class has hot pink color!! I am not the only parent complaining! I will not make him wear it tomorrow. I will encourage so I won't be the disruptive parent of the PTO board...LOL...but if he doesn't want to I will send him in his normal school shirt and put this one in his book bag. We'll see how it goes. Or Granny suggested them wearing it inside out! ha ha!

I purposely made this pic big so you can really see the frilly little girl. Cute pic, but not for the boys! Am I just crazy.? maybe, but I don't like it! Bad choices! If they want I will gladly stand up for the fun day shirt committee next year!

Looking forward to the long weekend! Toodles for now.

I know I'm a little crazy.

To start I have to share my new Groupon find!! It was a coupon for $10 worth of ice cream and you pay $5 for it!! If you haven't had Bruster's Ice Cream you are missing out!!

$5 for $10 Worth of Ice Cream and Treats at Bruster’s Real Ice Cream

www.groupon.com

If you arent' familiar with groupon you should check it out. They have daily specials in your area. They are usually only available for purchase on one day. But my ice cream coupon was a great deal. It's the first time I've ordered from Groupon. I was able to get two coupons! The ice cream there is so good, but it is kinda pricey the coupons are great! And they don't expire until Nov.!! I see ice cream in my future!!  yum!!

I've been making the boys some treats again. Wow I just love my new found fun food website. It's the Kitchen Fun link on my side bar. Check out these monkey pancakes!

They loved them!!

One night I also made this man on the moon pancake. Isn't it adorable!!

I haven't made this one yet, but hope to make it for the boys soon. They love Phineas and Ferb and this is so cute, and seems pretty easy too! I can't wait to see their face when I make it!

I decided to take Bry out of gymnastics for the summer. The only day I can take him is Mondays which is my day off. I'm thinking I might not want to have to worry about timing on my Mondays off with the boys in the summer. That way if we are gone to the park, movies, swimming or whatever then we can just enjoy the day. I will probably start him back up in the fall once school starts again.

I went for a 4 mile run yesterday. My breathing was so awesome! I am so happy! I guess I've been having some trouble for awhile and just didn't know it. I guess the meds are working  :-)

The boys only have two more days of school! Wow! The year went by so fast! I am sad though that I can't have the whole summer off with them to just play!  :-(  I have been using alot of my PTO too for things so far so I don't have alot of time to be able to take off any in the summer. I have to save it up for our Disney cruise in September..yay!!!  I am super excited about that trip!!

I guess that's about all for now. I hope everyone has a great a safe holiday weekend. We will be enjoying seeing Mike's cousin graduate high school! Wow, she was four when I met her and now she's graduating! That's crazy!!
toodles!

Day off

I had alot of fun putting together the goody bags for Bry's class for the teddy bear picnic. The girls bag had bubbles, a small doll, hello kitty bracelets, ice cream coupon  and gummy bears.

These bear sandwiches turned out so cute. Although, I didn't think about how long it would take to make 30 bear sandwiches! But the kids loved them!

This the bear that he wanted to take. I did let him take it to show, but we used the smaller one for the teddy bear check. We weighed the bears and measured how long they were. It was fun.

I am so spoiled by yesterday. It was so nice to be off and be able to help and enjoy Bry's preK picnic. I took him home early from school after the picnic. We ran a few errands and then picked up Dev early as soon as his class returned from their field trip. Then we went to a new place and got some yummy frozen yogurt with lots of toppings! It was so much fun. Then home to enjoy the weather and play outside....long sigh.....it was so enjoyable!!!!!!!!!! Makes me sad that I'll be working so much this summer and only have one week day off to enjoy with my boys other than the weekend.

Not sure about our weekend plans yet. It's supposed to be nice and warm but chances of thunderstorms. I really want to get a bigger garden going for the boys. Maybe we'll work on that.
Happy Friday!

Where to start?

This is one of my great finds from the garage sales on Sat. I got Bry this big boy scooter for only $4. That's a great price considering how much they normally cost new! He loves it!! He's been riding it almost constantly!

Granny even found her one so she could keep up with the boys! Go Granny Go!!

The boys got the RC boats out and had some fun.

Dev even got his own boat out!

And of course the cars came out too! We had several neighborhood spectators! :-)

I tried to get the best pic possible of all three wiggle worm cousins!

Love my new pink garbage can in support of  breast cancer! A one time donation helps the cause for the cure!

The boys are anxiously awaiting our vegetables. We have bell peppers and tomatoes growing. Hopefully next year we can do a larger bed and really get some things planted!

Bry's class is having a teddy bear picnic on Thursday for their end of the year party. I am taking off work to help the kids enjoy the party. I made these cute goody bags to go with the theme and I'm going to add an ice cream coupon and a ziploc bag with teddy grahams, mini marshmallows and honeycomb cereal.  You can check out the party from Dev's preK clicking here.  I am planning to do the same Teddy bear clinic for Bry's class too. The kids really enjoyed measuring and weighing their teddy bears. Hoping to get pics of the kids with the wooden bears too so I can send a copy home to their parents. We are going to also have limbo, teddy bear parachute toss and maybe one other fun game. I am really looking forward to it. I have only made it to one of Bry's parties this year, so I'm happy I'm able to make it to this one.

Dev's class is going on a field trip on Thursday also. I hate that I won't be able to go on that with him. But I know he'll have fun, and some other parents that are going will help keep an eye on him.

I brought home some boxes from work the other day. Yes.....wonderful gifts! They love boxes!

Check out Bry's splits! He is really getting close to the ground!

Another great find on Sat. was two huge ziploc bags full of legos! I should of bought all 5 bags that the people had, but wasn't thinking about how really great of a deal it was! But nonetheless...the boys loved all the legos to add to their current collection. I took a pic of them all on the floor, but some reason it didn't turn out. Daddy helped Dev build a huge airplane with new and old pieces.

He loved it as you can tell by his reaction! priceless!

Tonight is the very last night of bowling. I wasn't really planning on going since the game itself doesn't really count. But it's a potluck food night AND we get our prize $$. We actually ended up 3rd, we are tied for 2nd but they get the 2nd place title since they have more pins total for the season than us...bummer, but still awesome. I think I'm going to bring the boys and let them play a game while I'm bowling. I have two free passes left that they can use. But I might not stay for the last game, I don't want the boys out too late on a school night.

Our photo session went really well on Sunday. I'm anxiously awaiting the sneak peek that she sends out this week. I will be sure to share when I get them!

Well I think that all for now.
