monday news

It was a great day today. I took B to school and D and I ran some errands, ate lunch and headed to the Fire Museum. I think D had a good time, but they did a fire demonstration video that kinda seemed real and he almost cried. But they did some good fire safety presentations and I know he listened because he's been telling me things all through the evening about fire stuff!! Then when we left there were "real firemen" coming in for a meeting or something and two "real" firetrucks parked outside. The firetrucks in the museum were real of course but they were older versions so he only thought the ones parked outside were real. Later mom picked up B and met us a Chuck E Cheese for a little fun evening since it was scorching hot outside. B hasn't been in a long time and he really enjoyed it. There was one ride that just went in circles and he could pedal to make it go faster. I think he must have rode that same ride about 40 times... no joke!!
My 5K training was cancelled for the second week in a row due to the weather. D was supposed to have soccer practice. I don't know if they did or not because we went to CEC instead. I decided that if it was too hot for us adults, then the kids shouldn't be playing in it either. So I'll have to follow up on that and see when the next practice is scheduled for. I only did one running training session last week, yikes. This week looks like my first chance will be on Wed. Mike is out of town and I have D this week at home till he starts school on Wed...... I need to definetely try to get my practices in this week. The training has intensified and I need to keep us. This week is run 9 minutes and walk 2 minutes alternating for 35 minutes. Whoa!! I was able to handle last weeks run 8 and walk 2 so I hope the one extra minute won't kill me since I only did it once last week. We'll see. I can only do my best I guess.....
Some good news....... D does NOT need glasses. He passed his eye test with flying colors. They even dilated his eyes and all looked good. I am very happy. She said he might be close to becoming near sighted but he is not as of yet. I am glad we don't have to worry about keeping up and not breaking glasses...at least not this year!
Tomorrow is haircut for D before school starts and then some more errands and maybe a trip to the indoor pool. I think it's going to be scorching hot again, so we'll try to stay indoors as much as possible. Well that's all for now...toodles.
**NOTE--well I've tried twice now and blogger won't upload my pics so I'll try again tomorrow..sorry.
