The rest

So here are the rest of my pics from the Auction night.

Of course we just had to join in to the Electric Slide....even before our Jello shots!!

Yes, they served alcohol and Jello shots!! I have to admit it was my first time for jello shots!

We had a great evening and it was alot of fun! I also bid on some gift certificates to the school uniform shop and won! I get $40 worth of free uniforms....anything helps!!
Spent part of Monday and Tuesday putting mulch around in the flower beds! Yes...they look so much better. I just need to get a few more flowers to fill in some bare spots where things have died and not returned from last year. We also have our yearly killdear bird's nest in one of our flower beds. I have been watching and their were two eggs, then three, then four...pretty cool. Although, I checked the other day and now there are only 3! Uh oh....not sure what happened! I am hoping something didn't eat it..I don't think it's time for them to hatch yet.

I also got back into my running this week after a month long break. Boy oh boy am I sore though!! But I am hoping to keep it back in my routine again and make it a habit again!

We leave tomorrow for a trip to Mobile. I made a really cute project for my MIL but can't post a pic till we get back, in case she checks this before we get there. We are having a park picnic day on Saturday with some of our friends and families. I am very excited and the weather is supposed to be really nice. I am hoping to see two friends at the picnic that I reconnected with on FB. Haven't seen them or talked in 12-18 yrs....wow....I'm not really that old...am I? Depending on how long we are there we might take the boys to the Pensacola Naval Air museum. I think the boys would love to see all the planes..if not this time then we will defintely take them the next time we are in town.

I took B to his first Taekwondo intro class the other night! He did so great!! The instructor even told him he earned a white belt! He was so proud!! He wanted to wear the belt all night!
He also is having dress up at school all week. Each day is a different theme. The other day was military day and this was how he looked when he went to school. He loved wearing my dad's old Navy hat!

I am totally going to make these one day soon!! I thought they were so cute!!

If you want to see how to make them just go here.
Well I think that is all for now.....hope everyone has a great weekend!! Toodles.

Great night

We had a wonderful time at the school fundraiser dinner and auction night on Sat! This is the basket that our class made for the auction. It cost us about $30...everything else was donated. It sold at the auction for $200! Not too bad! The money raised goes to the school!

This is the coffee basket(s) that we bid on and won! We were very happy, we really like coffee!

It had soooooo much great stuff in them!!

I also sold $1 raffle tickets for a cash drawing. I came in 2nd place for most tickets sold...losing by less than 10. The cool thing is that the winner was a friend of my mother in law that I sold the ticket to!! Whoo....hoo!! Great for her, she won $655!! Not too bad!!!!
Anyway...more later...gotta finish some things before boys get home. Toodles!

Hoping for NO rain

It's Friday! Yipee!!!
Starting the morning off tomorrow with a haircut for D and then I'm not sure...it's supposed to rain with thunderstorms! Yuk...thinking I might stop at the store for some inside kid project ideas on my way home tonight! Then tomorrow night Mike and I are having a night out. Mom is watching the boys and we are going to a Gala Dinner!! :0) D's school is having a dinner night with dancing and music. There will also be raffles and silent auctions. Each grade was in charge of making a basket for the auction. Our theme was Father's day. I think our basket is pretty great! The grade that gets the highest bid wins a party for the class...here's hoping we win! There are some other pretty cool baskets though..... I'll post a pic of our basket later.
Also.....congrats to me on my new title.......PTO secretary for next school year! Hee hee....who would of ever thunk it!! My other preK room mom...new great friend is now the VP!! I told her...we are just taking over the school! Ha...just kidding!! I think it will be fun. I like to be involved and maybe we can get more people to come to the meetings with some new incentives...we'll see.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Ready for a laugh?

Well, the great thing about kids is you never know what might happen when you are videoing them....

We of course had to leave the park and head to the nearby store for a potty break! When you gotta go....you gotta go! :) Good night!

Some family pics

OK, see the pics just jumped everywhere!! You'll see what i"m talking about a few sentences down...none the less. UGH...now it deleted a pic and I have to re upload and it will probably go to the top of this page......

Easter Morning!

OK, first my real computer is acting really wierd and I 'm frustrated so I'm updating this from my laptop that has minimal capabilites and it's frustrating too, but here we go.

My boys on Easter Sunday in their cute suits, before shoes on and before hair brushing, but still adorable! ( Pic is now at top of page, too hard to move on this lap top)

D was very happy about his basket and especially the Wii game.

B got a fish from the Easter Bunny!
He was amazed..."it's moving!" he said...He decided to name him "B"...how fitting.
This pic is from the church egg hunt, the weather was great!

That's all for now, before this post messes up again. Good night

Some yummy delights

So I tried two new recipes tonight and they are both delicious!! The first one is Chicken and Broccoli Casserole that you can find here. It was so easy and taste great. I used frozen chopped chicken and frozen broccoli and didnt' cook it before mixing it all together. I just mixed it all up and cooked in the oven and it turned out great!! A great combo easy and yummy!!

The other recipe I just know will be great also. It's a Lemonade Stand Pie found here. I haven't tasted the finished frozen product, but after licking the leftovers from the bowl I just know it will be great too!!

Here is yet one more recipe I found online:
CHOCOLATE TRIFLE

1 pkg 19.8 oz brownie mix 1 8oz. cool whip, thawed
1 pkg 3.9 oz. instant chocolate pudding mix 1 12oz. cool whip, thawed
1/2 cup water 1 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk

Prepare brownie mix according to directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 in squares.

In large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 oz. cool whip until no white streaks remain,.

In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mix and half of the 12 oz cool whip. Repeat layers. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

Totally delicious!!!!!!!!

The boys had a wonderful egg hunt at the church this morning. They died 1500 real eggs and hid them around the church grounds. Wow, it didn't take long for the kids to gather them ALL up!! Looks like we'll be having egg salad like alot of other people!! Then we spent most of the day at the park and then just playing outside around the house enjoying the beautiful weather!!

We also had a welcome treat last night! Our neighbors brought us some wonderful easter basket cupcakes to enjoy! Yum!

Well that's all for now! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter morning! Gotta go make a plastic egg trail from the boys rooms down to their Easter baskets! I can't wait to see D's reaction to his new Hot Wheels Wii game and B's suprise to his very own new fish!! :-) Toodles.

What's your guess?

I have decided to use my "Pay it Forward" in the form of a game. Leave me a comment with your guess of how many plastic Easter eggs are in this basket. The person with the closest guess will get a little gift in the mail from me. The deadline for guesses is 6am on Easter morning. You are only allowed one guess! I will announce the winner around noon on Easter. Good luck guessing!!

Happy Friday!!

Catching up from the week

About a week or so I broke out a recipe I had found online to make your own firetruck cookies. It worked well and the boys liked them. The only problem was that the graham crackers I bought were in square instead of the long rectangles, but we just pushed them together and made it work. I used gum drops for the siren light. B kept asking me how it tasted like peppermint?? :-)

I also got out my creative skills and made a bunny head carrot cake for a girl's birthday at work. It was actually really easy. Next time I will probably use frosting as the outline for the bow tie.

Daddy showed the boys how to color eggs. I don't think they remembered from last year judging by their amazement as the eggs turned colors!! Especially Bry!

The boys woke up to a special "Bunny" breakfast this morning. I thought I would get creative and cook an egg inside a piece of bread in the shape of a bunny. The boys like it but just couldn't grasp that the bunny shape inside the bread was made of egg. It was cute!

The party at D's school went great! The weather was beautiful although just a little windy, but it was fine. We hid all the eggs and the kids hunted the eggs and had them all in what seemed like 10 seconds!! Then we went down the hill and played some relay games that I had set up.

The kids would hop through the rings, roll an egg with a wooden spoon through the orange cones and then jump the hurdles, turn around and do it back again. The other relay included loading plastic eggs into a dump truck and pushing the truck down to a basket and dumping the eggs. Then they ran to the end of the line and got inside a garbage bag and jumped like a sac race back to the finish. I think the kids had a great time and the parents were great helpers!

Tonight I am going to let Bry make brownie cookies for his class for Easter. They are having his school party on Friday but he won't be there. Dev is out of school and my dad is going to watch both boys at his house, so of course B wanted to go to Papa's house instead of school! Who wouldn't??
I am still chugging along on my wedding scrapbook. I am so excited. I will have to scan a few pages to post soon. And speaking of scrapbooking....my friend Susan is in a messy scraproom contest. So go HERE and vote for her!! Just scroll down the page and she is #39!! You can vote once daily until Aprill 22nd. Good luck Susan!
I am also PEEVED like many others that my Tivo cut off and I missed the end of AI because they ran over....AGAIN!! That is starting to really irritate me! I did catch a small clip of Adam online.....I really like him too!!
That's about all here for now! Toodles.

You never know

So last night I got a call that my coworker hurt her back and they needed me to work on Tuesday morning. Yuk!! Not happy, because I need to finish gathering and planning for D's Easter party at school tomorrow. Oh well, at least it's only half a day so I should have plenty of time, but not enough time for some other plans I had..... I will just have to work it out I guess.
Anyway, daddy and the boys colored Easter eggs. The boys were in pure amazement at the eggs turning colors!! Daddy even stopped and got the coloring supplies by himself on his way home without me telling him....wow....I was so happy and so were the boys! I will post some pics maybe tonight of the coloring event!
The weather is in the 30's this morning....where is Spring?? But at least it is supposed to be near 70 tomorrow!! Great weather for the egg hunt at school!!!
Well just a short note, must get back to work so I can get out and finish my to do list...toodles.

Short and sweet

I am finally feeling back up to par after my 5 day dose of antibiotics, my steroid shot for my sinuses and some nasal spray! Ahhhhh, the sweet smell of air!! Wonderul!! Finally and thank goodness!!
I am amazed that I actually scrapbooked yesterday and did 11 pages in my wedding album! I am thrilled!! They are simple pages but have enough elegance for the wedding theme. I really like how it's turning out!! Now I just need to master scanning my small thumbnail prints that I never had printed and enlarge them to look decent and add to the album. I think this might slow me down slightly....but it's in progress and I'm thrilled to finally get going on it. It will look so much better than in the old peel and stick album that I had them in!!
Planning a family cookout for Sat. The weather is supposed to be nice and we get to enjoy our new covered patio we just had installed, it looks great!! No more sweltering heat shining down on us at 12 noon!!
I am also in plan mode for D's Easter party at school next week. They are having an egg hunt of course. I am also going to set up a relay race. It should be alot of fun, I just hope the weather cooperates!!
I am excited that I actually have Easter suits for the boys this year! Shamefully, I have never dressed them in an Easter suit! This year will be the first and they will look so handsome (if I do say so myself!!) One of the suits was given to us when D was a baby and has never been worn..it's a size 3T and B will be wearing it. Also a friend of mine just gave me a suit for D to wear, it is also brand new with tags and never been worn! My handsome little boys......it will definetely be a picture taking moment!!
Just finished watching " The Secret Life of Bees" It is a MUST SEE!! It was a wonderful movie and has such a great story line. I also felt it was so well put together and produced! I didn't feel like things were left out or over done in the movie...just beware...have the tissues ready is all I'm going to say! Such a wonderful movie. The entire cast was excellent and Dakota Fanning was totally awesome!!
That's about it for now! Off to finish up some emails and then off to bed. Toodles!!

The final few

Here are a few of the final pics from our trip. Of course I did take about 200 or so but I just tried to pic a few of my favs to post this time.
One of the nights was Pirate dress up night. the boys enjoyed it. The characters also dressed up around the ship.

Even Chip N Dale were dressed as Pirates!

The also had a pirate party on deck at 10pm. B couldn't make it and was asleep at 8pm. D did manage to stay up but just barely. He got back to our room with daddy in time to see the fireworks from our balacony that the ship shot into the sky. It was pretty cool.
Back to the first night of our cruise. It was the same night that the Space Shuttle was taking off. The Captain of the ship announced to everyone the time so we could all make sure we were up on deck to watch. They also gave a live feed on the giant TV screen on the ship. It was countdown time!

This is the space shuttle soaring up to space.

Here is a short video of the space shuttle.

This video is cool. It shows where the shuttle breaks apart from the boosters?? The part that falls back into the ocean.

Happy weekend to everyone. We are taking the boys to a musical theatre production today. I hope they enjoy it!

In case you get distracted with this, I did post a few more pics below from our trip. Toodles.

FInally a few more

So I am finally posting a few pics. I have been under the weather this week, still fighting off the cold that I started when we headed out for our cruise! ugh!! I am now at the stage of almost coughing up a lung and talking like a frog!! Luckily, I just picked up some antibiotics and took the first dose...I am hoping for a better day tomorrow!!

Anyway....back to the pics. The weather was perfect for playing in the sand on the beach!

We thought the water was pretty cold, but of course it didn't phase the kids at all!
They also had on the island a very cool whale bone exibit where kids could uncover the whale spine and then dig for whale teeth.

Both boys found a tooth and got to have it logged in the "special whale bone tooth finding book" hee hee!

Daddy took Dev on a paddle boat ride. He had a great time. Although I have to admit watching from shore I was worried the boat would tip over with the difference in weight! But of course it didn't, thank goodness. B couldn't ride because you had to be 5 yrs old to ride.

The boys enjoyed getting a refreshing drink with Mimi and Gran J. I think Dev is signing his surfer dude signals....

B played King of the Sand Pile while D and Daddy were on the paddle boats.

I do have a few more pics I want to share, but that will be tomorrow or the weekend. Time to get the boys bathed and into bed. Toodles
Oh Yeah!! CONGRATS TO DAD FOR WINNING THE MUSTACHE CONTEST! His picture was actually on the news..the boys got a big kick out of seeing Papa on TV.
