Happy Mother's Day!

First of all Happy Mother's Day to my mom!! I am so proud of you and thank you for all you do!

The day I became a Mom was a changing day in my life! Words cannot describe the emotions I felt! My baby Devin had entered the world at a whopping 10 lbs. 15 oz.....hee hee! His nickname is the hospital was "bubba" :-)

Two years later Bryson entered our lives at 9 lbs and 1 oz. and it was another beautiful day! I now became a Mommy of 2 boys!! I love my boys with all my heart! It is such a blessing to be a Mom!

Ha! It's funny to see these pics and how much they looked alike at first born! I had a wonderful day and hope all the other Mother's out there did too!
**I was going to post a pic of Mike and his mom, but I couldn't find the pic I thought I had.....but I am thinking of you too!
Love to all!!

3...2....1.....TEQUILA!!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!! Only 45 minutes left till me and hubby enjoy my fav Mexican food and homemade Margaritas!! TEQUILA!! Too bad I have to work in the morning...but I can probably handle at least 3 !! :o)

The sun will come out......today!

YES! The sun finally came out today! After over a week of dreary and rainy weather I am thrilled! I had a great weekend with my friends from STL. It rained the entire time so we basically sat around and chatted, went out to Japanese for dinner and then home and played some Wii. It was a short visit, but alot of fun!!
We are still enjoying all the different birds at my feeder and I have even see a hummingbird or two finally. I think I need to move my hummingbird feeder though. I think it is too close to the bird feeder and the birds are scaring the hummingbirds away.
I am looking forward to this upcoming weekend also. For Mother's day my sis and I are taking my mom digging for diamonds! Yes, you heard me right! There is a state park near here that you can go to and dig around for diamonds. Maybe one of us will find something! We are going to head over Friday evening and spend the night and then get up and do some digging! It should be very interesting! I'll let you know if we find any!!!! hee hee!!
Hopefully my father in law will get out of the hospital today! He has been in there almost two weeks. He had part of his large intestine removed for chronic bleeding problems. I sure hope today is the day! I know he does too!! He seems to be recovering well and I wish him a great continuing recovery!
Also, just wanted to share a few videos of my most talented boys :o) :o)

OK nevermind, it's being difficult to upload my videos. I'll try again later.!

Friends

This was a birthday gift I made for my mother in law. I got the idea from a friend who told me she was making a flower pot with foam hands in it for a teacher. I couldn't find hands and decided to go with flowers. I thought it turned out very cute. If you are looking for a mother's day gift with pics of the grandkids in it, this is a cute and inexpensive gift they are sure to love!

It's been a busy week. I am glad it's the weekend. Two of my girlfriends from STL are coming to visit. I am very excited. I have been gone from there almost 5 yrs. This is their first visit and I am very excited! Although, it's raining and is supposed to rain the whole weekend. The good thing is that we now have our covered patio, so we can sit out and drink wine and watch the ducks in the pond and just catch up.
Some of our friends here are having a cookout so Mike will be taking the boys over there. We girls will have the house to ourselves this evening. I am sure the boys will much happier being off playing with other boys instead of hanging around with mommy chatting with her friends :)
Just a little update. I must get back in the kitchen and working on my yummy snacks for later! Toodles.

Not just an elaborate story

Mike got out the fishing poles yesterday and let the boys fish in the pond behind us. While I was gone shopping he sent me a pic of this!! So when you ask Dev how big the fish was he caught and he stretches his arms out wide from side to side.....he's not just telling a typical fish story! It really was! WOW!! What a great catch!! B also enjoyed fishing, but was nervous to reel them in according to daddy. He said as fast as he could bait and throw in the line, the catfish were biting like crazy! This was the biggest they caught!

Supposed to be another nice day...so mom and I are headed to the zoo with the boys! :0)

Such a fun afternoon

To start the week....no he is not impersonating Squiggy from Laverne n Shirley...it was crazy hair day at school. We gelled up his hair to make a mohawk (shark fin as the boys say) type style but the gel really made all his curls come out! Still a cutie patootie!!

This is moments after arriving at the carnival. You can tell D is bursting with excitement and B is in awe staring up at a few of the rides!
D headed up these stairs for the slide without even waiting for me...he's 5 you know and not scared anymore!!! He is about 4 people from the top down the stairs in the red shirt.

We rode the slide multiple times. It was alot of fun!!
They really enjoyed riding in Mater!

This is an aerial type view of the snake coaster that we rode. D was all into it and raised his hands high in the air screaming...whoo hoo.....B tried to join in but barely lifted his fingertips from the lap bar and screamed....whoo hoo.....it was so funny!! He was trying to be such a big boy!
The boys enjoyed this ride...but as they kept going the bigger girls in their car were making it spin around pretty fast...
From the pic I think D was having a blast and B wasn't really so sure anymore :)
He was so proud of his inflatable bat!!

So...Yes I made my smiley pops tonight!! I am thrilled!! I think they turned out pretty darn good for my first attempt!! I didn't spend alot of time making the cake perfectly round shaped, but will know better next time! But overall....def a project I will do again maybe for the boys' classes or something!! They weren't hard to make at all. I did use gel icing for the faces instead of the edible markers. They were way too expensive at Michael's without a coupon. I will probably go back and get them with my coupon, but the gel worked pretty well. Don't forget a piece of styrofoam to have on hand to stick the pops in to let the chocolate dry. I can't wait for the boys to wake up in the morning and see their smiley snacks!

Then I had to taste one of them of course!!

Oh!! Casualty!! But yummy!! :o)

This is D going down the slide....very fun! Wish the girl would of stopped trying to be in my video though!

Also, our weekend plans have changed. My FIL is unexpectedly going to have some surgery on Monday. So we (the family) won't be going down for the weekend. Instead Mike and his brother are coordinating to get down there and be able to stay a bit for and after the surgery. Keep him in your prayers! Good night

The rest

So here are the rest of my pics from the Auction night.

Of course we just had to join in to the Electric Slide....even before our Jello shots!!

Yes, they served alcohol and Jello shots!! I have to admit it was my first time for jello shots!

We had a great evening and it was alot of fun! I also bid on some gift certificates to the school uniform shop and won! I get $40 worth of free uniforms....anything helps!!
Spent part of Monday and Tuesday putting mulch around in the flower beds! Yes...they look so much better. I just need to get a few more flowers to fill in some bare spots where things have died and not returned from last year. We also have our yearly killdear bird's nest in one of our flower beds. I have been watching and their were two eggs, then three, then four...pretty cool. Although, I checked the other day and now there are only 3! Uh oh....not sure what happened! I am hoping something didn't eat it..I don't think it's time for them to hatch yet.

I also got back into my running this week after a month long break. Boy oh boy am I sore though!! But I am hoping to keep it back in my routine again and make it a habit again!

We leave tomorrow for a trip to Mobile. I made a really cute project for my MIL but can't post a pic till we get back, in case she checks this before we get there. We are having a park picnic day on Saturday with some of our friends and families. I am very excited and the weather is supposed to be really nice. I am hoping to see two friends at the picnic that I reconnected with on FB. Haven't seen them or talked in 12-18 yrs....wow....I'm not really that old...am I? Depending on how long we are there we might take the boys to the Pensacola Naval Air museum. I think the boys would love to see all the planes..if not this time then we will defintely take them the next time we are in town.

I took B to his first Taekwondo intro class the other night! He did so great!! The instructor even told him he earned a white belt! He was so proud!! He wanted to wear the belt all night!
He also is having dress up at school all week. Each day is a different theme. The other day was military day and this was how he looked when he went to school. He loved wearing my dad's old Navy hat!

I am totally going to make these one day soon!! I thought they were so cute!!

If you want to see how to make them just go here.
Well I think that is all for now.....hope everyone has a great weekend!! Toodles.

Great night

We had a wonderful time at the school fundraiser dinner and auction night on Sat! This is the basket that our class made for the auction. It cost us about $30...everything else was donated. It sold at the auction for $200! Not too bad! The money raised goes to the school!

This is the coffee basket(s) that we bid on and won! We were very happy, we really like coffee!

It had soooooo much great stuff in them!!

I also sold $1 raffle tickets for a cash drawing. I came in 2nd place for most tickets sold...losing by less than 10. The cool thing is that the winner was a friend of my mother in law that I sold the ticket to!! Whoo....hoo!! Great for her, she won $655!! Not too bad!!!!
Anyway...more later...gotta finish some things before boys get home. Toodles!

Hoping for NO rain

It's Friday! Yipee!!!
Starting the morning off tomorrow with a haircut for D and then I'm not sure...it's supposed to rain with thunderstorms! Yuk...thinking I might stop at the store for some inside kid project ideas on my way home tonight! Then tomorrow night Mike and I are having a night out. Mom is watching the boys and we are going to a Gala Dinner!! :0) D's school is having a dinner night with dancing and music. There will also be raffles and silent auctions. Each grade was in charge of making a basket for the auction. Our theme was Father's day. I think our basket is pretty great! The grade that gets the highest bid wins a party for the class...here's hoping we win! There are some other pretty cool baskets though..... I'll post a pic of our basket later.
Also.....congrats to me on my new title.......PTO secretary for next school year! Hee hee....who would of ever thunk it!! My other preK room mom...new great friend is now the VP!! I told her...we are just taking over the school! Ha...just kidding!! I think it will be fun. I like to be involved and maybe we can get more people to come to the meetings with some new incentives...we'll see.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Ready for a laugh?

Well, the great thing about kids is you never know what might happen when you are videoing them....

We of course had to leave the park and head to the nearby store for a potty break! When you gotta go....you gotta go! :) Good night!

Some family pics

OK, see the pics just jumped everywhere!! You'll see what i"m talking about a few sentences down...none the less. UGH...now it deleted a pic and I have to re upload and it will probably go to the top of this page......

Easter Morning!

OK, first my real computer is acting really wierd and I 'm frustrated so I'm updating this from my laptop that has minimal capabilites and it's frustrating too, but here we go.

My boys on Easter Sunday in their cute suits, before shoes on and before hair brushing, but still adorable! ( Pic is now at top of page, too hard to move on this lap top)

D was very happy about his basket and especially the Wii game.

B got a fish from the Easter Bunny!
He was amazed..."it's moving!" he said...He decided to name him "B"...how fitting.
This pic is from the church egg hunt, the weather was great!

That's all for now, before this post messes up again. Good night

Some yummy delights

So I tried two new recipes tonight and they are both delicious!! The first one is Chicken and Broccoli Casserole that you can find here. It was so easy and taste great. I used frozen chopped chicken and frozen broccoli and didnt' cook it before mixing it all together. I just mixed it all up and cooked in the oven and it turned out great!! A great combo easy and yummy!!

The other recipe I just know will be great also. It's a Lemonade Stand Pie found here. I haven't tasted the finished frozen product, but after licking the leftovers from the bowl I just know it will be great too!!

Here is yet one more recipe I found online:
CHOCOLATE TRIFLE

1 pkg 19.8 oz brownie mix 1 8oz. cool whip, thawed
1 pkg 3.9 oz. instant chocolate pudding mix 1 12oz. cool whip, thawed
1/2 cup water 1 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk

Prepare brownie mix according to directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 in squares.

In large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 oz. cool whip until no white streaks remain,.

In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mix and half of the 12 oz cool whip. Repeat layers. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.

Totally delicious!!!!!!!!

The boys had a wonderful egg hunt at the church this morning. They died 1500 real eggs and hid them around the church grounds. Wow, it didn't take long for the kids to gather them ALL up!! Looks like we'll be having egg salad like alot of other people!! Then we spent most of the day at the park and then just playing outside around the house enjoying the beautiful weather!!

We also had a welcome treat last night! Our neighbors brought us some wonderful easter basket cupcakes to enjoy! Yum!

Well that's all for now! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter morning! Gotta go make a plastic egg trail from the boys rooms down to their Easter baskets! I can't wait to see D's reaction to his new Hot Wheels Wii game and B's suprise to his very own new fish!! :-) Toodles.

What's your guess?

I have decided to use my "Pay it Forward" in the form of a game. Leave me a comment with your guess of how many plastic Easter eggs are in this basket. The person with the closest guess will get a little gift in the mail from me. The deadline for guesses is 6am on Easter morning. You are only allowed one guess! I will announce the winner around noon on Easter. Good luck guessing!!

Happy Friday!!
